"We must not become stronger for those we have lost, but for those who have decided to follow us in the present, in order to protect them from the same fate our previous comrades befell."
Phyre Lv1 | Phyre walked along the dirt path that cut through the Great Plains, her hand rested on her sword, ready to unsheathe it at any given moment. After a few minutes, she stopped and looked up at the clear blue sky. Familiar feelings of loneliness enveloped her and she was brought back to the days before she met Jared. Smiling softly, Phyre accepted the painful feelings and shoved the memories away. Looking ahead once more, Phyre continued walking, keeping her eyes peeled for a Fenzy Boar or Dire Wolf. Of course, it didn't take long for her to find a bunch of Frenzy Boars all spaced out among each other. Stopping in her tracks, Phyre smirked with pleasure. Now she could finally start getting stronger. Bending over, Phyre picked up a small rock that was laying beside her foot and stood up again. Aiming at the rear end of the closest boar, Phyre threw the rock and watched it hit the boar, leaving a red mark. The angry boar turned and once it saw Phyre, charged at her. Phyre jumped out of the way of the boar, unsheathing her sword as she did so. The boar turned and charged again, thrusting it's horns up and down. Instead of dodging again, Phyre ran at the boar and once it was close enough, she moved to the left and cut through it's left flank. The boar let out a grunt, turning and charging at Phyre once again. It had picked up speed, catching Phyre off guard. She was knocked to the ground, losing some health in the process. The boar ran a little longer, but stopped and turned to face Phyre again. Getting up, Phyre thought back to the guide handbook the beta testers had been giving out. The weak spot is located on the back of the head. She remembered, grateful she had taken one of those. As the boar charged at her once again, Phyre charged at it as well. She waited until it was just a few feet away before jumping off the ground. The boar didn't stop running and Phyre extended her sword. As she flew over the boar, she sliced the back of it's head before landing behind it on her feet. Turning her head to see what had happened, Phyre was pleased to find herself watching the boar become a bunch of pixels and disappear. Her first kill. Feelings better about herself, Phyre continued throwing rocks at a boar then engaging in combat. She lost a little more health as she continued, which was t be expected. After killing thirteen more Frenzy Boars, Phyre dropped to the floor, sweating and acknowledging that she was bleeding from a wound on her arm. After inspecting the wound, Phyre decided it's alright to continue fighting since it wasn't that deep. Standing up, Phyre wiped her forehead from sweat and continued on her way. With a sense of victory and pride, Phyre held her head high as she walked, ready to face on another opponent. Within a few minutes of searching, Phyre found a Dire Wolf. The minute it saw her the wolf ran at Phyre, snarling and showing off it's sharp white fangs. The side! Phyre thought quickly, remembering the handbook. Phyre ran the wolf, her sword held out a little to the side. The wolf lunged at Phyre, surprising her. Instinct took over and as Phyre fell backwards, she pointed her sword to the wolf. As the wolf landed on Phyre, her sword pierced through it's stomach. The weight of the wolf was enough for Phyre to be pinned to the ground. The wolf, bleeding heavily from the stomach, thrashed about in a vain attempt to get away from Phyre and her blade. However, doing so only made the wound bigger and deeper, causing the wolfs health to decrease steadily. Once the health was pretty low, the wolf gave up and instead attack Phyre by biting down on her arm to leave it's mark. She clenched her teeth in pain, watching as the wolfs health continued decreasing. After a minute or so, Phyre watched with wide eyes as the wolf's body became pixels and disappeared into the atmosphere. Phyre, who had been frozen for a few remaining seconds, began breathing again. Laying her arms out, Phyre stared up at the sky. "Too close for comfort." She said to herself, before bursting into laughter as she remembered the thrill of that entire scene. It was memorable alright. Once she finished laughing, Phyre looked over at her HP bar. It wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad either. Deciding to sit there for a little bit in order to calm down, Phyre sat up and sheathed her sword. She earned the break, and was happy to have it. Laying back, she looked up at the blue sky and the few fluffy white clouds that drifted within the blue mass. Suddenly, a flash of pain seared from her arm and Phyre winced. Sitting up, she looked at her arm. The wolf had cut deep into her skin with it's fangs and her health had lowered because of it. Her entire arm from just a little below her shoulder was covered in blood. Sighing softly, Phyre stood up gripped the teeth wounds. She decided to wait until it stopped bleeding before she continued on her monster journey. Looking around, Phyre saw no monsters for the time being and so she allowed herself to not worry too much about the danger. Instead, she opened her inventory and took a piece of cloth she'd been given and put it to use. Using the cloth, she wiped away the blood then tied the cloth around her wounds so it would soak up the blood. With that taken care off, she decided on going back and seeing if she can have the wound taken care of. |
