The next step in getting a curved sword upgrade would be to get a better quality hilt. And where else would you get the wood for that than a forest? A black forest at that. Granted, there were less dangers of getting killed closer to a settlement, but there were greater chances of finding what he needed over here in the forest. The reward outweighed the risk, and so here Angelo was, trudging along inside a forest looking for wood. To be more exact, he was looking for one of those plant monsters called a Nepenthes that lived in the forest, but what's the big difference between this oak tree here and a moving plant monster?
About five minutes of walking rewarded the white-haired teenager with something. The Detection talent he had obtained was working its magic, pointing him past a grove of trees to the right. He crouched low to the ground and began moving as stealthily as he could, imitating how a rabbit would move rather than a human's steady footsteps. Two minutes of slow, intense hopping and quick movements resulted in him reaching the grove. He could see the moving plant monster ahead, lazily wandering around going in no direction in particular.
That Nepenthes was his first target, the first chance he has at obtaining a hilt piece for his new weapon. The boy unsheathed his curved sword and waited for the right moment to pounce on the moving plant matter.
Wood! We Need Wood!
