SCHEHERAZADE @tagged #0000 SHIN OF ADOX | Scheherazade had her hair down today, a rushing pale-gold curtain with a thick braid on her right shoulder from her side swept bangs, something much shorter than the rest of her hair, tied off with her simple blue ribbon. She had chosen a simple white top, thin and gauzy, and a filmy pink skirt to match, something she had borrowed from her friend the day before. Her steps were light as she spun through the town, hair trailing out behind her as she performed a flawless grand jete in the middle of the street, making a group of older NPCs smile indulgently from across the street. She felt pretty today; her skin felt warm and smooth as satin, hair shining under the bright sunlight with various colors. She leaned on one leg, and when it seemed as if there was nowhere for her to go except tilt over, she pushed herself back in a smooth pirouette, making herself giggle, her soft voice blending in with the warm ambience of the street. Var was full of poverty, there was no ignoring it. But where Port Noir easily covered it up, the people of Var flaunted their poverty, the women making fun of each other's rags and the men arguing about whose house cost the least or was in the worst condition with grins on their faces. She found a simple fountain, with traces of Roman architecture, and sat on the edge to admire it, slowly leaning back, gripping the rounded, slippery edge of the marble fountain as her only support, the outermost "bowl" of the fountain thin but able to support her weight. The girl leaned her leg against the other, thicker "bowl" of the fountain above it, the fountain sucked dry. That was probably the case with most fountains in Var and Port Noir-people didn't care about seeing water, after all. If they wanted to, they would go to the sea, where tropical fish lurked and the seas were brilliantly colored. She closed her eyes and thought to do something else besides wander aimlessly. Sunlight streamed onto the street, lighting up the various points of Var, making it beautiful, in all of the town's ruptured glory, earthy and at peace. WIP |
