いつだって自分の全部を ぶつけるだけ!
| Finding a nice side of the plains to herself, Lucia had just finished "warming up". There really wasn't any point to doing it in a video game, nor was there any bonus, but Lucia was ultimately not satisfied for a few reasons. The first being that she was actually faster and more agile outside the game than in it. Generally, this is not a problem at a low level, because the Ryuuha Koei Sougetsu was an ancient Martial Art that was meant to dominate a battlefield with one person. Ancient Martial Arts meant that they would be wearing armor, unlike the romanticized Edo period depicted in Anime and such where the Samurai would generally be seen with light clothing. Armor meant restricted movement in the Real Life, but Lucia needed the extra agility in order to perform some of the stronger techniques, especially since she was fighting video game monsters. The Martial Art was later merged with techniques from an even more ancient past that were inspired by deities and heroes that fell ancient beasts like the Yamata no Orochi. The second being that aside from Sword Arts, all attacks would have a roughly consistent low damage, no matter how hard or fast one swings the sword. Some of the attacks aren't even considered proper strikes, so there's also that hanging over her head. This was a problem because even if she could pull off her techniques, they will only do laughable damage. Thus, her martial arts meant to bring out power and speed aren't worth it until she gets enough slots to record all her techniques as Original Sword Skills. Right now, she only has one, so she registered the most basic Futatsumizuchi (Twin River Dragons). Also, activating Sword Arts is what allows her to break past her agility threshold for a single moment, but she can't use it consecutively. Lucia decided not to go into the rest and simply start grinding. First, she had to get used to her current level of agility and second, she has to get to a comfortable level of agility with her level ups. Facing a nearby monster, the Boar, she drew her Iron Scimitar and approached. Curved Sword for speed attacks and Two-Handed Sword for power attacks. If she wanted to get anywhere decent, she was going to have to put in twice the time. If she wanted to get anywhere good, she would then have to double the effort, meaning almost quadruple the time. After all, if one does not put in twice the efforts of others, how do they obtain achievements twice that of others? Taking a Chuudan stance, she stepped forward, raised her sword and slashed down. A nearly textbook attack. Then, immediately, her leading foot lunged to one side before the rest of her body followed. The Boar does straight charges as a basic attack, so this was the most effective way to fight without getting hit. Her brother gave her the idea to do this with a console game. Strafing in a circle around an opponent while striking at it. Generally a strategy meant for shooting games, but four repetitions later, the boar just gave up, laid down and shattered. Lucia simply retrieved all the drops without paying them attention. Turning to another, she decided to try out her Sword Art. Switching her weapon into the Iron Broadsword and took the Waki-gamae by holding it by her side at waist level and pointed backwards. Rushing in, the sword glowed blue as an otherworldly force let her exceed her virtual body's limits. 流派湖影蒼月剣術初伝 Ryuuha Koei Sougetsu Kenjutsu Shoden School of the Azure Moon Lake Shadow, Beginner Level Sword Technique: Two slashes of blue were produced, forming a cross. 「貳蛟龍」! Futatsumizuchi! Twin River Dragons! With the power of a Two-Handed Sword behind it, there was absolutely no way for a Boar to resist. It split into four and vanished. Lucia would have to test this Sword Art with the Scimitar later. |
