So. Obviously it's perma death in Aincrad, otherwise there wouldn't be so much tension in the fights and everything. BUT, there are a few things I'd like to ask about.
1. The revive item - OK sure, this was a one time (that we know about) item that only appeared in the super hard Christmas event. But will it ever appear here?
2. The point that I would really like to ask. As a player, we put a lot of time into our characters, only to have them die due to things beyond our means. (i.e. traps, bad dice rolls, being betrayed, you could think of more but that's all i'm going to list) So to see a character that we have been playing for months be no longer playable may make some of the players want to quit. (seriously if my character made it to floor 99 and died because the random number gods decided to be evil, I'd probably get frustrated enough to stop RPing completely for a good while) So what i'd like to as happen (if this is already in place Sorry, but I could not find it) is that we get to keep some of experience to use towards a new character.
Of course there would be restrictions upon this such as it has to be out of the players control (like you can't have the player get bored with the character and then jump into a dungeon ten levels higher or jump off a cliff or some other manner of player orchestrated death) and you would only be able to transfer up to a quarter or half of the exp that the original character gained into a new character (meaning no exp boosts for currently played characters)
Certainly the deaths would still sting greatly, but this would alleviate some of the pain that the players feel so that they would not have to sit and think that all that time was wasted.
