"Sigh"
Akagi looks up to the wide, open, blue sky. With each seconds pass the sky threatens to swallow him whole as he stare it blankly. The feeling of insecurity, confusion and fear would stir his heart. This emotion that he felt right now is the only thing that makes him feel alive in that moment.
He lets out another sigh, a long one this time.
"This is NOT how I want things to go."
…………..
November 6th, 2022, the grand opening of SAO server.
Akagi…no, Crimson as of now, was looking forward to this day. He really did, to the point where he could not focus on anything but the news and stories of his friend regarding this game.
The moment he steps into this world, he was speechless. The very logic of "living in fantasy world" was made real, realistically speaking. Humanity achieves a breakthrough yet again in science.
The very proof of that statement, VRMMORPG <SAO>, is right here, right now. And he is one of the lucky players who are able to experience it, in flesh, theoretically speaking.
He finally found the ultimate way of escaping that dreadful thing called reality.
Only to find out he just stumbled into another one, thanks to Kayaba.

After inputting his username and password, he presses the login button. Immediately an array of pillars in all kinds of colors rushes past him as he floats in the middle. It was unbearable, the colorful pillars just rush past his sight as their number slowly increase; he had to close his eyes and wait for it to end. Eventually he lands on something solid, his eyes still closed. The sound of someone talking near him gives him the urge to open his eyes.
And so he did, ever so slowly. His mouth slowly follows the same motion; he gapes like a fool, as that is the only thing he could do as he blink a few times as his brain tried to (in their full capacity) register the scenery in front of him. Players walking around as if it was the most natural thing to happen in online game, a realistic environment from the minute detail to the background, everything here is just....spectacular, extravagant, amazing. To describe it in one word,
Surreal.
He touch himself, the firmness of is body are real.
The smell of the bread from the nearby bakery makes him hungry.
He could hear the sound of excited players all around him.
The scenery in front of him is still breath-taking no matter how many times he sees it.
If only he could taste the bread nearby.....
Crimson walks around, curiosity fills him as to what he can do in this world. He follows several players who seem to be in the same line of thoughts with him, which is to check out every building there is within their sight and leave no place unexplored. His first destination would be the equipment shop, a-must-have shop for any RPG games. The journey forward to his destination are filled with awe and surprised; streets are filled with various shop and people of different characters, some of them are even beautiful looking and handsomely build. It’s hard to tell the differences between NPC and players; he pokes around a potion shop only to be glared by a somewhat veteran looking player who’s concentrating on what to buy. Feeling that he was disturbing the player too much, he continues onward.
Looking at the crowds with different appearance and somewhat balanced number of male and female player tickle his heart, and at the same time, fill him with a sense of weirdness. He prefers to keep his character looks as close to him as possible, as he felt uncomfortable looking and acting like someone else. But that is a different story for another time.
After finally arriving at something that looks like the equipment shop, judging by the sword and shield on the sign that hangs next to the door, he peers inside though the front windows. What he sees sets his heart beating in joy; armors of shiny silvers and swords of polished, refined steels lines up on display, waiting for their buyers to use them in combats. Crimson quickly calms himself and proceed to enter the shop. Inside he would check the arms available, especially two handed swords. The beginner equipment provided by the game is more than enough, for now. Besides he does not have the money to afford the equipment here.
And so he would continue looking on the available equipment for the next few hours.
………..
Crimson prepares himself to logout of this game. Although it is just a temporary parting, he could not wait to dive inside this game again. Alas, the circumstances in his house prevent him from sparing another hour here.
He smiles a little, knowing that he has fall in love with this world. He found another haven completely free of any adults who puts their hope on you. Promising to himself that he would come here again tomorrow, he brings out the menu and search for the logout button.
Only to find out that it is nowhere to be seen.
He scrolls up and down on the menu, searching carefully in case that he miss it out. His attempt bears no fruit, the logout button, which is supposed to be THERE is nowhere to be seen. He scratches his head as he tries process the whole event. His brain seems to fail him today; too much stimulus must have sent his brain went haywire. He presses the button to call for GM assistance instead, but there were no response from the other party.
A game on a huge scale but lack of response from GM. He shakes his head in disappointment and attempted again for few times, but to no avail. Giving up the idea altogether, he would return to the center of the town where he could think of a way to contact the GM.
Or at least, that is what he wanted to do.
Blue light envelops him…no, not just him, but every player that is within his sight are enveloped in blue light. The next moment, one by one disappear from where they stood. And it is not long before it was his turn to disappear.
He opens his eyes; the sight of confused players filled his HUD. Crimson scans around to see where they are right now. Surprisingly, it was the center of the town, the place where he intended to. Murmurs and shouts filled his ears, the audible noise however overwhelmed by his own confusions. The only people who are able to transport this many players at once and gathered them in one spot is none other than,
Silence fills the air as the players’ sets their sights on this figure. As if taking it as its cue, the figure begins its introduction. Upon hearing its name, the crowd stirs once more. How can’t they, it is the most important person in this game. Without him, this realistic fantasy world would not exist.
Unimpeded by the players’ confusions, angry shouts and questions, he reveals his purposes to the player and the whole world. His announcement is ground shattering, unbelievable, impossible to be considered as the truth.
As soon as he made that announcement, he would tell the player to examine their inventory and take out a mirror that should not be there in a first place. Taking it out, Crimson stare inside the mirror; the face of his character could be seen from the reflection. And within the next moment, the same blue light would envelop them once more. This time, however, they are not transported anywhere. Crimson looks around; unknown faces, left and right, replaced the player who once stood there. He did not pay attention to the players around him, but he could swear that that was not the same people who were once there. He looks into the mirror in his hand, puzzled by the whole ordeal
.
Fear and dreadfulness took a firm grip on his heart. Kayaba explain the whole situation and reveals the purposes behind the body check. After finish explaining, he leaves them all with a warning before disappearing;
As reality of the whole situation finally sets in, Crimson covers his mouth with his left hand. He felt sick, so sick that he would vomit on that very spot. The mirror in his right hand shakes as his hand tremble.
No more, he could not take this whole situation no more. Why is it that he has to suffer again, was it a sin to find escapism from his life? Did god have to punish him so for hating his life? His hopes shattered in pieces, no more.
He slowly sinks into the deep abyss; his brain could no longer register anything.
……....
…….
….
Crimson brandishes his sword as he stand under the shadows of the huge gate leading outside. The wide blue sky and the gentle breeze; the vast, green plain that stretches far wide; a wonderful sign that something good will happen today. His mood improves a little, besides there is no point in brooding over the past.
There is only one thing he could do now.
He would move forward and battle against these cruel fate of his. He would no longer run from reality. The Town of Beginning is a good place to hole up, but they would progress nowhere, he included, if they were to stay that way.
Aoyuu and Asahina are out there with no one protecting them. They were his beacon of light, the only thing that pushes him forward. He swears that he would crawl out from this hellhole and greets them with a cheerful smile. As their brother, he would do anything to protect them from any danger.
And so, he took a firm step forward, leaving behind his fears of going forward.
The future is uncertain, but he would brave through them no matter how difficult it is.
And so, he begins his journey.
This is, The Beginning of The End, of his life, of his story.

Game Master
The sky turns red, or to be specific, filled with hexagonal, red, box with the word ‘Warning’ covers the whole sky. However that did not attract their attention. Instead, a creepy, huge figure wearing a red robe looms over them was what attracts their (players) attention the most.Silence fills the air as the players’ sets their sights on this figure. As if taking it as its cue, the figure begins its introduction. Upon hearing its name, the crowd stirs once more. How can’t they, it is the most important person in this game. Without him, this realistic fantasy world would not exist.
The game creator himself, Kayaba Akihiko makes his appearance.
Unimpeded by the players’ confusions, angry shouts and questions, he reveals his purposes to the player and the whole world. His announcement is ground shattering, unbelievable, impossible to be considered as the truth.
This world, what should be the next utopia in gaming,
A place where fantasy and reality should be far apart,
Transform into a prison to the 10,000 players, trapping them inside this game.
As soon as he made that announcement, he would tell the player to examine their inventory and take out a mirror that should not be there in a first place. Taking it out, Crimson stare inside the mirror; the face of his character could be seen from the reflection. And within the next moment, the same blue light would envelop them once more. He did not pay attention to the players around him, but he could swear that that was not the same people who were once there. He looks into the mirror in his hand, puzzled by the whole ordeal
.
Someone who looks similar to him in real life reflected in the mirror.
Fear and dreadfulness took a firm grip on his heart. Kayaba explain the whole situation and reveals the purposes behind the body check. After finish explaining, he leaves them all with a warning before disappearing;
Death here means death in real world.
