Rue focused on her food. Her ear perked up at the knights order, Rue had never heard of the items that she spoke of before. Bun was in the order, was it like a cinnamon bun with a fruit sauce? To hungry to worry about odd unknown foods, the small girl focused on her dinner. When her order arrived Rue look to the girls plate. There would raw salmon, that looked kind of like sashimi, but it was not. The semla bun looked to be what she had expected. Soon Scheherazade would bombard Rue with questions. How is the guild run, what is the hierarchy, what is the support and do they have a chest and uniforms? Looking up at the girl, slightly taken aback by all of the questioning. Rue did not know about the guild all that much. Athena and her talked about what they might do in the future. Patting her lips and clearing her throat, Rue tried to answer to the best of her ability. " Right now were more of a monarchy with Athena at the helm. Me and Elpharae give suggestions, but it's ultimately up to her. We have a chest, but no uniforms to speak of yet". Rue brings up a window and shows the guilds crest. Scheherazade would inquire more about the guild, as Rue got less and less confidant about what the guild would act on. Telling the lilac eyed girl that there is nothing wrong with asking questions Rue continued. Her last question was much more difficult than the last ones. Pausing to think and gather her thoughts Rue spoke. " I'm not entirely sure myself about how the guild would go about helping others. Athena and I did feed players and the npcs of the second floor, I did not understand the purpose of it as they would just be hungry again. I would personally solve the issue not give a temporary solution". Focusing herself as she was getting off topic there last guild event still weighed on her memory. " We have not been giving much guidance on what we should do. Myself and another guild member started recruiting as you already know, but we were not instructed to... I am taking the new members under my wing and teaching them to fight, but none of it was sanctioned by the guild... I'm just doing what I know the guild needs". Rue looked down poking at her food, she did not know what to say as she did not know what the guild did herself. Scheherazade apologized for being curious. Rue looked up at her with a small smile, " how do you learn if you don't ask? I should be the one apologize, I don't really know much about the guild myself. I'm just doing what I think is right". Rue went back to eating her food with a crestfallen look in her eyes.

Scheherazade's eyes softened slightly. "I daresay not knowing about your guild should be fine, for after all, you are but a new explorer in this world of guilds, are you not? I have not heard a word about another forming. It seems that you are the first to garner such attention." A small, honest smile grew on her face, playing at the edges of her lips. "Perhaps it is because of your various titles, as I've heard. Knight Errant, Ice Princess...it is likely that I am being impudent, but if you do forgive me...I prefer Rue much more." A small, almost unnoticeable blush grew on her face, and so a touch of her shyness returned, making her avert her eyes slightly as she bit into another cloudberry, the sweet flavor erupting into her mouth. She made a small, pleased noise, and then continued, a touch of hesitance coloring her low voice before she ignored it and forged on. The crestfallen look in Rue's eyes was something that she was perhaps too familiar with in her own childhood. The crushing disappointment in herself and from others; the pitying looks; the blame shouldered from person to person; the ideal of perfection that others and herself put Amaryllis against, trying to fit her in a set of armor that simply would not fit her-that, she could relate with. She had tried so hard (Allah, please grant me strength) she simply had tried so hard then and given it her all, wondering and whispering and worrying and weeping and yet never came close to what she wanted to be, what she needed to be. She had hoped to at least alleviate that hope in others, and so she would do so for Rue. She sipped at her water slowly, fingers dragging on the frost that formed on the edges of the glass, eyes unreadable but gentle and yet cool, blinking at Rue once in a while. She had tried so hard, by the gods above, she had tried so hard-she had believed her burden was less then others, and so she never breathed a word, she had let herself deteriorate. How could she? People were dying, they were being crippled, some of them had been hurt beyond repair-what did her struggles matter? She was just a girl in the sea of many. Just a girl. Unimportant. Held to ideals she could never live up to. Was Rue like this? She wondered what type of pressure the other lived through, the blood and gore a girl like her had seen, virtual or not. Her lilac eyes stared down a set of amber, and she bit a cloudberry silently, the outside snapping to reveal soft innards, making the juice run down her throat. She closed her eyes. Allah, please do not allow this girl, these children, these others to suffer. I beg of you, Allah, in the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgement. Thee do we worship and Thine aid we seek, show us the right way, the way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose is not wrath, and who go not astray. She blinked again, as if lost in thought, and then murmured a soft apology to Rue for letting her thoughts drift away, her eyes fluttering shut before she opened them again, and then slowly replied to her last statement, her lilac eyes sharp and focused. "And what else should we do but not follow what we believe in, our morals, our ethics, our ideas, our dreams? What you think is right is something to be understood and followed, is it not? No matter who blocks your path, who may haunt you from before...you must forge a path forward doing what you believe in and what you can place your soul wholly in." "That determination, no matter for the so called "good" or "evil" that haunts the world, I find myself admiring. To give your heart and soul for just one belief that you can devote yourself to no matter what stands in your way..." The blonde player allowed her another small, dreamy smile, her eyelashes brushing against her cheeks as she looked down at the pristine white tablecloth, "I believe that is an admirable act. But that is just my philosophy, is it not? Devotion means nothing in the eyes of others in comparison to good and evil. Perhaps that is why I can find good in all, naive as I am."

Seemly done with her food, Rue set it aside as she thought about how poorly she was doing. She should've prepare an explanation for situations like this. She should of asked Athena more about how the guild would react. Letting her failures bog her down, the light blue haired girl sat quietly looking down ashamed of her failure. Scheherazade spoke up at Rue's self scolding with soft features and an honest smile. Looking up sheepishly at the blond girl, with a small smile. Her words helped to make her feel a little better, but also made her feel worse. As it was her job to test her and explain the guild to her not the other way around. Rue cheeks warmed at her comment about her preferring Rue as she is. Looking away in slight embarrassment she spoke softly. " No i understand what you mean, and thank you". Looking at Scheherazade with a pleased smile as she rested her chin on her arm leaning on the table looking up at her. " Yes the titles that have been thrusted upon me, just like the expectations of others in the real world. I guess it was my fault for portraying myself as such, but that was all i knew. I was constantly made to be the best, and never make a mistake. The ne good thing about this situation we have been forced into has been that know one knew of me and treated me like a normal person. While my learned habits have gained me infamion, i have also found people that understand me and accept me". Refocusing herself back at the task at hand. Rue picked herself back up and fixed her hair that had been parted from her resting on the table. Clearing her throat as Scheherazade had been fairly quiet for awhile, mostly do to Rue's ramblings. Looking back at the knightly girl, her lilac eyes met Rue's amber eyes. ( Has she been listening and watching me the whole time )? Rue apologized as she apologized as well causing Rue to blink with a confused look. As Scheherazade focused her glance at the small girl, Rue quickly snapped out of her mild confusion as the girl spoke. Once again her words had halted the small tank's thoughts as she focused on what she had said. Looking into those blueish silver eyes, with her dark eyelashes that drew the sight into her eyes. Rue's more harsh fiery colour stared into her regal eyes. " I'm still not sure what i believe in. I just want to leave, and protect my friends that i have made here. I know that a handful of players cannot beat the game, but i never had to work with others before as everything i have done before i have not needed others... I don't dislike other people i just don't want to involve them if i don't have to". Looking down and scratching at her fingernail. " Selfish and illogical.. i know maybe i just don't want to see others suffer". The knight continued and talked about her beliefs and ethics. Rue had faced many obstacles that had challenged her own ethics and beliefs. Looking deep within herself as she stared off as she tried to give an answer to share her beliefs with Scheherazade. " Not one to believe in good and evil right and wrong, as i am just a flawed person like everyone else. I was taught that the sword is a tool of death, and that learning the way of the sword is the way of death. Death only destroys i does not create or protect. Killing is wrong, but". Rue's fists clenches and she looks at Scheherazade with a look that felt as if it was clear as spring water. " When others take and hurt others, i do what is necessary. It maybe evil or wrong, but it has to be done. I maybe cruel,harsh and appear without remorse. I am just doing what i believe has to be done for the good of others". Rue's look of absolute belief fades into a more soft expression. " We're both naive, i am even more so. Trying to shoulder all of the weight myself". Rue smiles at her philosophical partner, " I like your views better then, mine you seem to at least be more together than myself. I did not have any true goals or dreams until i came here. Now i have so many pieces that i had been without for so long". Blinking as she realised that she had been talking more about herself then the guild. Speaking more formal she tries to stop this derailing train. " We have gotten quite off topic now... Again, it's my fault for getting caught up in my own thoughts, but i did enjoy the conversation". Even though she had only known the girl for a short time, Rue felt akin to the blond girl as she reminded her of herself.

While the other girl talked about protecting the others that she cared about, no matter how cruel or harsh others might see her as, Scheherazade gave her another soft, open smile, lighting up her face and letting her eyes crinkle gently at the sides as she sipped at her water again, setting her glass down delicately, a drop of water rolling down the side onto her skin. "You call yourself cruel and harsh, even if you are relating to other's perspectives. Perhaps you are so. But in protecting your comrades, your loved ones, with your own strength...that is admirable. You have a much bigger heart than you give yourself credit for, do you not?" "Wanting to end suffering, let suffering die in others that you care about, taking it on your shoulders...that is not an illogical nor selfish goal. Others may call it too grand for one person, breaking you down completely, the ideals that no person should ever possess...they may call it sad. In becoming this person, this ideal, strength in its finest, you give up a small part of the mortal side of yourself, do you not? You give up the life you might have had, the wondering innocence and joy, the things you might have had, in another life...for others. But that is exactly the appeal. That is why people like that exist." "It is because...not all can shoulder the burden that they have been given. And if that path leads to ultimate suffering for yourself, and we recognize it, how can we regret it? If I could have just touched a life, helped anyone in any way, no matter how insignificant, made up for something that someone else lacked...I would be fulfilled. I would not regret what I would have done, who I had become, what I had given up." Her eyes turned soft. "That is the selfish side of me. I want to help people because I want to know I have helped someone." She startled when the girl mentioned being off topic and merely gave her a softer, more nostalgic smile, eyes clouded in thought. "I enjoyed the conversation as well. It is a pleasure to converse with you. Perhaps...we could do this more often." She set down her empty plates, signaling to the waiter, who merely bowed slightly and took them away, leaving only her water glass and the pristine white tablecloth. She watched this girl, so young and yet so aged, across from her, and felt her eyes settle into a gentle expression of true respect, and then, with a hesitant expression in her eye, she sent her a friend request. Scheherazade, she had been told by her mother as she brushed her hair and plaited it when she was younger, radiated beauty in an elegant, pure way, like a dove or a swan. A white dragon, majestic and strong, ferocious and radiant. Her mother admired her sharp cheekbones, her dark hair, a shade darker than her father's in reality, her eyes that were clear and open, in a way that only a mother could admire her child. Most likely, if there were any other, they wouldn't have found her half as lovely, she believed. Judgmental, passive, powerful, beautiful, pure. An angel, she had said, teasing at first, and then sobering, repeating the words. My angel. The blonde turned serious again, and then blinked slowly, sending a glance outside of the window. "Oh, it's gotten later than I expected. I'll be going on a walk, I suppose, around the town to clear my thoughts before I rest. You're welcome to join, Rue. I would be honored to be graced by your presence." She let out a teasing smile before glancing slightly at the night outside. A small frown grew on her face internally. A pity it was rather cold, though it didn't matter much. She didn't mind, after all. She bowed her head in thanks to Rue, standing, and then murmured her gratitude. She straightened up, regal, and then began to walk, her strides long and even, ponytail flying out behind her as she pushed the door open and let the wood creak as it swung to allow her out of the building. Her blonde hair was brought to her left front, lying over that side of her chest as she tapped her finger against her lip and then let the door shut behind her.

Rue thought on the girl's words. She was not as cruel or cold as many who did not know her may think. She merely filled a role that needed to be filled, even at the cost of her humanity. The blond knight made her actions out to be more heroic than they actually were. Rue was just a killer with morals.. a code. That was the only thing that separated her from the others who killed others for fun or monetary gain. As Rue tried to bring the conversation back on topic. Scheherazade only smiled at her. Rue did not feel right as she was making her out to be a warrior of justice. She did not feel as such. Still she seemed to at least enjoy the conversation with the small tank as she asked if they could do it more often. Sending a friend request at Rue, the light blue haired girl looked at her as she gave a look back of a mix of emotions and shyness. Rue could not help, but blush slightly at all of her words and praise. Accepting her request, as the girl stared off into space again. She was an odd one to be sure, fearsome on the battlefield and shy and meek off of it. She regained her seriousness again and focused back to the small tank. Pointing out how late it has gotten. Rue looked to the window and saw how dark it had gotten, it must be midnight by the complete and soothing darkness that hung outside of the window. Snapping her focus back to her company as she mentioned leaving and then playfully offered her Rue to accompany her. It was a surprise to see her become so comfortable around her so fast, but it was a nice surprise. " Of course i would accompany you my good lady. I would be remiss to not escort a lady of your stature". Rue bowed and hooked her arm under her body as she bowed to her, going along with the mood. As she left with Scheherazade, she paused as she opened the door feeling the cold air hit her skin. " I think warmer clothes are the better choice to wear for our walk". Her idea would of been a great one if she had warmer clothing. Wrapping her arms around herself she sucked it up and followed the knight out the door. The nightly moonlit streets offered a peaceful sanctuary from the noise of the patrons of the inn. Walking with her companion, the small girl wonder how she could not be bothered by the cold of the night. Rubbing her arms with her hands to keep warm, Rue looked to Scheherazade and made it her turn to ask questions. " You have been asking me about, my beliefs and what i think is right and wrong. I would like you to talked about yourself a little more, if you would like to know what Lapis fights for and what she believes in. It would be nice to look at things from a different perspective". Looking away as she brought a nickname, she wondered where the idea came from but could not think of why she referred to her as such. It just seemed to fit.

"Myself?" Scheherazade murmured in a question to herself, walking with Rue around the outskirts of town, by now. The sky was dark and an occasional firefly flitted by past, herself walking with a bounce in her step, as if she were dancing again, and on a whim, she twirled mid-step in a flawless turn, her hair flying out behind her as her skirt fanned out, making her smile in quiet happiness. "There is both too much and too little to say about myself, I fear. But since you asked, I can hardly refuse." "Jag är tjejen som drömmer om stjärnor och aldrig fånga dem. She shook her head quickly internally. That was going into dangerous territory. You never questioned your place in life. "Um, when I was younger, I wore my hair in twin tails and tied them off with pink ribbons. I'm religious. I used to own a cat, a lovely little Siamese kitten. And, of course, you wanted to know about my beliefs and perception of the world. I suppose I could tell you, though I do believe I have shared them earlier." "I believe in determination and faith. Those are the two qualities I pride above others. The faith that you show to anything, the lengths that you go to achieve your goals-they all show how willing you are to sacrifice other, immaterial objects, for your truth, your faith, your beliefs. All determination should be admired in my eyes, whether I strike down the bearer of the determination or not. The form that it takes...why does that matter in terms of admiration? If you are devoted, I can admire your faith. That is my perspective on the world. But I tend to see all people as partly good and never wholly evil, so perhaps that is my flaw." "I'm ordinary enough, I suppose," She ended her train of thought, smiling thoughtfully at the foreign stars above her. "That's why I want to be so special, why I make things seem so grand. If I could pretend I made my mark on the world, if I could say that my trials were great and my suffering even greater-I could leave a tiny indent in a mountain of names. I'm selfish that way. Of that, I am sure."

Looked at her with interest as she put a bounce in her step. Seeming like she was ready to fight again. As she twirled around, Rue wondered how she could be so active in this cool. Wrapping the back scarf she had gotten from her sister around herself, Rue would cross her arms trying to fight the cold of the night. Rue looked at her as she smiled and spoke with riddles, the platinum blond knight seemed to be happy to talk about herself. She spoke in a language that the small girl could not even comprehend. Her words seemed honest whatever they may have meant. It seemed as if she was thinking to herself more than talking to Rue. She then went on to listed the things she enjoyed and facts about herself. Her mention about her having twin tails caught Rue's attention. " Your current hair suits you much more than twin tails, it's regal it suits you". Rue could see her with twin tails, but her long braided locks were more refined and suited the regal girl. Going on about her having a kitten, made Rue think about how her parents told her that she could not have a pet. Sighing from the loss of having a small puff ball to cuddle with on the lonely night, Rue continued to listen. Scheherazade's believe in determination and faith, and who she saw good in everyone was indeed naïve but her beliefs were comforting ideals. Her comment on her begin ordinary enough cause a small chuckled from Rue as she smiled at her friend, and then her wish to be special throw Rue over the edge. Letting out an amused laugh, and quieting herself looking back to the knightly girl. " Scheherazade, you are already special, at least in my eyes. I can say so far i have not met anyone quite like you before. You wise and smart not to mention strong and graceful. People would wish to be someone even somewhat close to you". Looking more calm into her lilac coloured irises. " If you keep holding on to your beliefs and following what you want, and what you believe in. I am confident that you will leave more than a tiny indent on mountain itself. There is nothing wrong with being selfish from time to time, everyone has wants and needs". Turning away from her companion, rue had forgotten the cold while she had been engrossed in the conversation with her walking partner. Feeling the cold pass through her bones, the some girl rubbed her arms up and down to warm herself. " Do we have a goal or destination for our walk"? Rue was getting rather cold, her skin was covered in small bumps and her body shook in attempts to warm itself. Rue went with Scheherazade to talk with her more, she did not ask why they were walking around the outskirts of the town though. She could not understand the reason for just doing something just to be in the moment of it. Rue always had a reason behind her actions and did not do things on a whim.

Är jag?  Eller är det bara en förklädnad? När du spelar masken för mycket, det finns ingenting bakom det...och du blir ihåligt och tomt. Am I? Or is it just a disguise? When you play the mask too much, there is nothing behind it...and you become hollow and empty. Her eyes revealed nothing more than a simple, pure gratitude, and she closed them briefly as to not show her shining eyes. Scheherazade kept the pride that bubbled up in her at the words at a slow, warm trickle, and they heated her up to her core. The blonde merely hummed in acknowledgement, staring at the night sky as she performed another twirl, bringing her up to her toes, one leg sweeping out before she brought it back in. "You honor me, Rue." She murmured her thanks, flushing bright pink before becoming a touch more serious. "You are special in my eyes. Through storm, fire, or unswerving hell, I hope your spirit does not falter." The last part was said while she tilted her head, her eyes unnaturally bright, reflecting the moonlight that seemed to flow throughout the town as to not impair players who didn't have Night Vision. ""May Allah bless your soul." The religious part was mouthed under her breath, her voice nonexistent but eyes soft nonetheless. She startled, suddenly, by Rue's question, and her skin colored with the intensity of her blush. She had forgotten about the cold. Having lived in colder weather when she was in Sweden, which was for most of her life, she had forgotten how sensitive to cold others could be. The blonde hastened in her pace, before laying eyes on a still-cheery NPC by the edge of the road. She spoke quietly, bargaining with the NPC for a dark piece of midnight-blue woolen cloak edged with a thin silver trim. It was pretty enough, but part of the reason behind her purchase was that the NPC was the only shopkeeper out at the time. The blonde finally ended their transaction, and transferred over the money to the woman while her hands grasped the cloak, a pretty thing with a small hood and an asymmetrical hem, and she walked back to Rue, draping it over her shoulders and asking whether she was warm enough now. Perhaps it was selfish, to let this girl trail behind her while she was so cold and shivered, but Scheherazade had already ensured that the light aquamarine-haired female warrior could leave whenever she wished, and so she continued on, the night sky leading the two females into a state of subdued awe and reverence at the view. Scheherazade was reminded of the verse that she had repeated earlier, when she had first met Rue. The blonde absently turned mid-step, the both of them over a stone bridge with a crystal-clear stream and a school of quicksilver fish that gleamed in the low light. "When the sun shall be folded up; and when the stars shall fall; and when the mountains shall be made to pass away; and when the camels ten months gone with young shall be neglected; and when the seas shall boil; and when the souls shall be joined again to their bodies; and when the girl who hath been buried alive shall be asked for what crime she was put to death; and when the books shall be laid open; and when the heavens shall be removed; and when hell shall burn fiercely; and when paradise shall be brought near: every soul shall know what it hath wrought. The Qu'ran." The words were familiar and comforting, and Scheherazade could not find it in herself to be ashamed of those words. She was stating her faith, and her faith was the one thing she could never be embarrassed about. The words seemed to reflect the serenity of the moment, after all.

The knightly girl spoke more of her... Mother language to the small tank. Her expression seemed to to be mix of pride and gratitude toward Rue's praise to the blond dancer. Thanking the small girl and blushing before becoming more serious again. Returning praise to Rue with a wish for the small girl's will and soul to never falter. Blushing Rue felt herself warm slightly as she joined in with other knightly women. The moonlight shone down on them making them look like blossoming flowers in the dimly light night. Looking away from Scheherazade as not to show her flushed complexion from her words. Rue was surprised by how much more talkative and open she has been with her since their first meeting not to long ago. As Sche muttered a blessing and walk off to speak with an npc, Rue had remained oblivious to her movements as she was focused on her rising feelings. How could she of become so close to someone she has barely know. Why does her heart race and her heart flutter for her words, why did she feel so odd around the girl. The small girl was so confused by the mix of emotions, as he chest tightened and she felt lightheaded. The touch of cloth being laid across her snapped Rue out of her singular think tank. Feeling the cloak warm her as she looked to see Scheherazade looking at her as the knightly girl placed it around Rue's small frame. Rue's face grow even more red from Scheherazade's gift and act of kindness. Nodding as she could not find words to acknowledge her. Rue pulled the hood down over her face and wrapped the cloak around herself. The cloak was soft and matched well with her normal complexion and hair colour. She had never felt like this in the real world, when she focused on her studies and hobbies. Did the nerve gear cause this, How can she feel this way about another women. She was beautiful and graceful like royalty or a mythical creature. Looking up at her as she told her that she could leave anytime she wished. The feeling strenthed as she looked once more on the her lilac eyes and refined features. Nodding and looking away, to stop herself from staring longingly at the blond siren or succubus that has cast a spell on her feelings and thoughts. Standing over a moon sighted stream. The fish danced along the silvery waters created by the meeting of land and sky. Rue had stay quiet as the serenity of the moment was lost on the young girl, as she felt entranced by the platinum blond and regal features of the women who had claimed her mind. listening as Scheherazade recited a quote that Rue had read before when she had a curiousity about what faith was to the people of the world. Rue did not understand what their faith was entirely as she seemed to lack what they had or saw. She did however find the lessons to be good goals or ways to live by. However Scheherazade had recited a quote from the Qu'ran. This made the small girl's heart drop as she knew the muslim’s stances on same sex relationships. Scheherazade smiled brilliantly at Rue, her devotion and faith shining through from the very core of her body, encompassing her core and her beliefs. The blonde closed her eyes in quiet reverence. The cool wind embraced her, and she leaned back into the air's touch, as if in one of a lover, using her back to lean on the side of the stone bridge, the hollows of her neck exposed as she stared up at the brilliant sun. The words of the Qu'ran, the words of her faith, the words of her soul, the scripture of her spirit. Her tattoo burned and her skin sang with the truth of the words. "You are correct, Rue. I am astonished by the length of your knowledge." The hate for homosexuality, the disdain and disgust generated by Muslims, the sheer anger and loathing that such individuals possessed. She could not keep that sadness within her, however, and the very idea made her sorrow show in her figure, eyes sad and figure stilling. She had come to terms with it, forever. She turned lightly, spinning in the water, the shallow depth not giving her much drag as she lifted one small foot to create a gleaming arc of water that followed her movements. Scheherazade let the nostalgic touch of her mother's hand carding through her hair make her skin warm, and then continued in her dance. Scheherazade let the last note hang in the air before she quieted, eyes brooding but heart light as she finally finished up her impromptu routine with a twirl and a smooth arc of her arms, bending down to scoop up a handful of river pebbles and clear water and let it pour through her fingers and back into the river, the lapping movement of the current only coming up to her ankles.

Tightly hugging her cloak that the knight had procured for her as the winds passed by the two women. Rue could not see the pride of Scherazade's faith. Not answering the girl as she praised her on her knowledge of the subject. Rue was not one to talk about faith as she did not understand it. Standing silently together Rue tried to get the thoughts out of her head. Tried to push them deep inside and away from her mind, like she had done so many times before back in the real world. Holding on to the cloak, she will keep this as a memory of the time they had spent here and lock her feelings into the cloak's deep blue fabric. Slowly her heart and locking her mind and heart away. She could not express her feeling to the girl who is so deeply involved with her faith. She would lash out at her and call her a heathen or a temptress, even though she was the one who has made her feel this way. As she had just gotten her feelings under control and just stop her mind and eyes giving into their lustful desires. The women who has plagued her mind and heart with these new feelings began to sing. Rue could not understand the words, but they sounded beautiful. The blond women really might of been a siren, as her voice drew the eye of Rue how could not turn away from her dancing. She danced in the water like the lady of the lake or a water nymph. Her dance was fluid and enchanting like the flow of a small stream or babbling brook. As she finished her dance and poured the pebbles through her hands. Rue felt as the pebble, as she was in the palm of her hand only to be dropped and dragged under a sea of sin and desire by the blond mermaid. After breaking away from Scheherazade's gaze, Rue shot around a corner of and alley and leaned against a wall. Letting out a deep breath and breath in as she felt as if she was going to pass out. Scheherazade blinked at Rue, caution coloring in her eyes. She reached out to hesitantly touch Rue's hand, but the girl turned away, and then walked away, thanking her for the evening. Scheherazade lowered her hand and hesitated at the menu option before her, a conflict before her. If she declined, would Rue feel scorned? But if she agreed, she would feel wrong, as it was a gift...and so she clicked the red button, declining the gift. She gently sat on the edges of the river, dangling her feet into the river, watching the silvery fish dart back and forth in the moonlight, creating a path for them, the creatures carving their path through the water when there was none. Such wise, playful creatures, were they not? She sent them a soft smile. Rue's sudden departure had startled her, and the blonde hummed quietly as she dipped her fingers into the river again, scooping up a silvery, gleaming fish. It wriggled in her hands, and flopped over, spraying her face with delicate drops of water. She let it splash back into the stream and swept a lock of her hair behind her ear, thinking. Did she offend Rue, and was that the reason for her sudden departure? Patience, she counseled herself. Do not presume truth when there is no evidence. Her lilac eyes slipped shut. At least they had left on good terms. On her part, at least. The blonde swept her hair over her shoulder, undoing her ponytail with a tug at her ribbon, letting her hair flow down her back in gentle waves. She placed her hands behind her back and started plaiting. Right, left. Right, left. Right, left. A repeating pattern. Like the threads of history. My own, she questioned herself softly, or the threads of true history? Rue had reminded her so of Vera, after all. Vera. Her heart ached. There was really not anything like a person's first love-so innocent, she had been. Amaryllis had believed that Vera could do no wrong. She saw the world in rose-tinted glasses and sparkling HD, wondering and hoping with all her heart. She had believed in the older girl with all her heart and then some. Vera's tinkling words had been her faith, her smile her religion. She had traced words of joy into the water and prayed to her god for understanding. She had been ready to shatter the world, had Vera commanded it. But then, what had she been given? Empty promises, shattered dreams of love. Fate was cruel. That was a fact of life. Scheherazade closed her eyes. She had closed her heart to everyone then. She had chained her heart and her wings and forced herself to shift into a form that was twice-borrowed and thrice-broken. She had tried to erase all traces of Vera from her mind, and it had only poisoned her. She had cried and wept and screamed her soul bare before the heavens and prayed for a salvation that had never came. Amaryllis had tried, tried so hard, and so many times. She had burned her faith into her skin to remind herself that she could never break away from it in the color of ash and bleeding spirits. But Vera had run away. So had Rue. She could not fault them both, after all. Was her imperfection that great? If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, the Qu'ran stated. She closed her hands over her heart. No. It was not an imperfection. She was a child of Allah, a creature of his creation. She could not be flawed in a way that defied her love for Allah. If she were, then she had sinned. She could repent later. But this was not an imperfection. She was merely human. I...I am a mere human. I am not special or extraordinary, nor am I evil or dastardly. I am just a human. It should have relieved her. But Scheherazade ached for an ideal that she so desperately wanted, something so against her faith that she should have been repulsed. Forbidden. It was the essence of her existence. She would have been content, happy even, to be remembered, no matter what as. But she...she was ordinary. I am a common soul. She harbored no grudge against Rue. I am imperfect and perfect and broken and whole, she thought. And then she put her face in between her hands and wept.
