[Sword Art]
Name: Flash Strike
Effect: Using the top of the curved blade, Mantis spins violently in a counterclockwise motion aiming for the enemy's neck in an attempt to sever their nerves and muscles. This inflicts the body part loss damage status effect, which debuffs the foe's damage output. (3 Hits: 100%, 100%, 100% - 25% Chance of damage de-buff of 5% of Enemies ATT roll for 1 round)
Trigger: Mantis holds the curved blade horizontally at eye level for a few seconds, closing her eyes to focus surrounding energy into her blade. With a charging sound, the blade glows lime-green. Content with her weapon's newfound power, she trusts her left hand outward at a 90 degree angle from her side and dashes forward until she's a foot away from her target. Then, she starts spinning like a tornado in hopes to severing the adversary's nerves and muscles.
Description: The curved blade emits a charging sound as tiny specks of green light cling to the metal of the blade. After several seconds, the blade glows bright lime-green and begins pulsing energy that begs to be unleashed on an unsuspecting enemy. The longer the curved blade's energy stays contained, the more violent its vibrations become. After a while, it starts emitting a faint humming noise. Each slight movement leaves a time lapse light trail that flutters about like the wings of green and black Dido butterfly. When Mantis begins her ferocious spinning assault, numerous lime-green streaks appear around her like the strokes of a paint brush. The hang in the air for a moment, creating the illusion of wind that makes Mantis seem encased by a mini-twister.
[Personality]
Mantis is open-minded when it comes to new strategies and opportunities; however, she refuses to compromise any of her beliefs or ideals. She's extremely organized and will likely enter a situation with at least three or four contingency plans in case something doesn't go her way. She calculates every tactic at least three nights prior to the situation with an analysis devised for any possible outcome that she can perceive. In the rare instance that she doesn't have a plan, she's fairly good at improvisation, although her last-minute actions aren't as successful as when her plans fall into place. Mantis possesses superior social skills and thrives off the energy of other people. She uses her likability generated from her feigned "righteous" act to manipulate other people. She's easy to get along with and she'll often go out of her way to earn the trust of others to use them as pawns for her later endeavors; however, once she has control of another person, she'll have high expectations that are difficult to meet and if they fail to meet them, she becomes a fierce, unbearable dictator. Mantis is protective of her "sisters," the women that share her Amazonian mindset that all males must be exterminated, and will go to extreme lengths to ensure their safety and best interests, but it comes at a cost. A woman must prove herself worthy to Mantis by performing impossible deeds that require nothing short of perfection. Mantis rarely worries because she always plans 10 moves ahead. Even when a surprise ruins her plan, she'll usually wiggle out of the dilemma. Someone must corner her in a hopeless situation for her to fret over it. Mantis is highly attuned to the world around her, constantly scanning for threats and opportunities that she can utilize in the future. Her two secret weapons are her stellar creativity and her eidetic memory. She rarely lets emotions cloud her judgment unless she sees one of her sisters in jeopardy. She's able to make important decisions in a matter of seconds and acts of services are the quickest way to earn her loyalty. Her ultimate life goal is to punish the male gender for the cruelty that they show to living things. In Sword Art Online, she heads a crusade to kill all male players and eventually lead an army of women to annihilate the most despicable man in Aincrad: Akihiko Kayaba. Her morality is green so that she can mingle with other female players, earn their trust, and invite them to join her in her mission. She also decided to remain green so that she can participate in the front lines and gather valuable boss drop items, rather than risk her life by killing players that are higher levels than she is.
[Biography]
Martha Summers is the daughter of a corrupt American politician that exploited the government system for his own personal gain by redirecting tax dollars into his bank account so that he and his family could enjoy the finest luxuries the world had to offer. What the public didn't know was that her father was abusive to the young Martha, taking pleasure in his twisted cruelties and becoming the catalyst in her future goals. Having a genius level IQ of 153, Martha became a chess grandmaster at the age of 14, having lost only twice to male grandmasters. Around the same time, she proposed a theory for harnessing a new form of energy that provided more electric power at a lower cost; however, the theory was so advanced that scientists haven’t discovered a way to implement it. Because of her successes and her political lineage, Martha became a child superstar. Her father used her for his campaign, making her say the message, “Every girl can.” After saying it so many times, she started believing it. He ran on a platform of “women’s rights,” despite frequently abusing Martha. She was an idol to young girls and the amount of professional female players soared. However, because of years of enduring abuse, she used her unmatched intellect for dark motives. One day, at 16, she began to orchestrate her father's demise. She encouraged one of her father's colleagues from an opposing party to voice his objections about her father. After three months of press releases and speeches that attempted to expose her father's fraud, she snuck into the politician's office and placed a key to her family's home and typed documents of their security codes and account numbers in both his desk and his secretary's desk. That night, she stabbed her father multiple times to death with a double-edged knife she purchased secretly. The next day, she performed a convincing act to the police and the secret service that the politician snuck into her home and killed her father. After finding a plethora of incriminating evidence in his entire staff's office, the police arrested the politician and everyone that worked for him. As she grew older, she learned that the quickest and most effective way to enact change in the world was through government. She went to Oxford, where she observed British politics and developed a love for the culture. She studied political science and used her degree, wealth, and connections to secure a position on the United States senate for the state of Virginia when she was 30. Driven by her hatred for her father and by the belief that all males are inhumane and deserve death, her end goal was to earn the trust of all American women and eventually enact laws that called for removing the inalienable rights of the male sex. She wanted to create a matriarchal society, where women were the dominant sex. However, she recognized that this goal was nearly impossible and would take centuries to accomplish. She had spent many late nights trying to devise a strategy that had even a one percent success rate, but she failed. One year ago, she read an article about Sword Art Online, the first fully immersive virtual world. She immediate secured a position of one of the 100 American beta testers and she instantly saw its potential. Her work kept her busy, but she made it to floor six and mapped out how to get the best weapons in the early game. She decided that Sword Art Online would be the perfect litmus test to see if an all-female utopian society was even possible. Whenever Akihiko Kayaba announced that the players were stuck in the game, she grinned. This is the ultimate opportunity, she thought. From her years of experience in politics, she knew that her first step was securing a trustworthy cabinet. She found three women that were potential candidates. Pippi, a deranged woman that suffered from dissociative identity disorder, Harun, a fellow abuse victim, and LadyRedemption, an African that worked for a terrorist organization. Since each of them fostered hatred toward men, everything went well until LadyRedemption rebelled because she made three in-game male friends. To make an example that no man was to be trusted, Mantis sent Harun to kill LadyRedemption's friends. Harun succeeded in killing two of them and Mantis discovered later that a girl named Rue killed the third. Enraged, LadyRedemption hunted down Harun and killed her. For several months, Mantis and Pippi pursued LadyRedemption to get revenge for Harun's death. This put them behind in the leveling process as the front lines cleared floor one. LadyRedemption managed to avoid Mantis and after a while, Mantis realized that getting revenge was a waste of time. However, Pippi acted against Mantis's counsel and attacked KyleMartin, urging him and the others to kill LadyRedemption. She also gave Kyle a hint of Mantis's identity in order to strike fear into him, which was something Mantis didn’t want because of the potential negative attention directed to her. After having Pippi observe them, Mantis hopes to recruit Razor and Relsialle into her fold, knowing that the latter could prove quite difficult to do. Also, she wants to earn the trust of the front lines so that no one will expect that she's behind the male genocide conspiracy when it happens.
