"I will not allow anyone to die."
Kyle Lv1 | Kyle casually strolled to the gates of the Town of Beginnings, admiring the now familiar scenery along the way. A vast amount of people always gathered near the gates setting up colorful arrays of stalls. The people formed their own sea, their heads bobbing up and down and their bodies swaying like the white, bubbly peaks of teal-blue waves. They sold a plethora of items such as trinkets, household items, foods, weapons, armor, and combat items. Kyle always enjoyed adventures to this section of the market district, but if he hung around too long, he'd often get depressed at the lack of col he had. Not today though, he internally exclaimed with a clenched fist of determination raised to his left shoulder. I'm going boar hunting and I'll be able to sell their meat for a profit. Kyle turned his head to the right and his eyes sparkled when he spotted a couple of health potions. He clasped his hands together and rocked from side to side in a dance of cheer. And maybe I'll finally get to buy something I can use to make me worthwhile for the front lines. After noticing several people eyeing him strangely, he ceased his little jig and cleared his throat, feigning a calm, collected demeanor. Great job Kyle, he scolded himself. You keep that up and no one will take you seriously. He positioned his hands at his side and continued his nonchalant gait with a smile shining from his face. Kyle was constantly smiling and his cheerful demeanor was definitely abnormal in a world filled with sorrow and death. In Sword Art Online, people frequently approached him and asked, "How can you be smiling so much?" He would respond, "I smile because I have hope that we'll all get out of here and because Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, even in here." Many people did not like that answer. Some found comfort in it, but most hollered in his face calling him "ignorant" and "close-minded." He was never positive if they were referring to the "hope" or "Jesus" comment. It was probably both, but he had a feeling that a significant amount of the animosity was a response to the name "Jesus." In the moment, it would bother him a little; however, he always shook it off. In this particular instance, his smiling session was cut short as a middle-aged couple frantically rushed past the gates shouting, "Help! The boars are at it again." Kyle tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows in concern. I wonder what's going on. |
