So it has come to my attention that some players struggle with getting decent word counts. Be mindful of the current fact that there is NO requirement in word count. I would like to keep it that way, however it consistently low posts exist there may become a need for a low requirement. So instead of letting it get to that point, I'd like to just drop a little hints/tricks insight on how to boost your post count. Im sure Ari can add to this as well after I've started it as she is much better than I at it.
For one thing, you are more than a sword. You can do more than action. You are a person, alive and breathing, within the game. "Attack attack attack" gets boring. In order to keep things interesting for all parties in the thread, give them something to reply to! You character has a voice, thoughts, purpose, dreams, regrets, fears USE THESE.
A post does not simply need to be "I attacked the boar then jumped back to a safe distance." Throw some flavor and flare into it. A well articulated sentence would include description. How did that attack feel? sound? look? how did you character feel about the attack? Embellish the sentence with thoughts, not everything posted has to be something other characters can see, a good character is developed continually through threads, and effectively through almost every thread. Your character has to have purpose, drive, meaning. Are you killing boars for thrill? Unleash that thrill. Do you just want to level up and do it for experience? Why do you need to level up, are you striving to lead the front line? Do you want to reclaim the life you once had? Or just survive to see tomorrow and hope others clear the game?
All of this can be use. Be sure to incorporate thoughts, feelings, and your senses into every thread, if not every post. This will absolutely help raise your word count which in turn also helps you level up faster. Remember we are here to enjoy roleplaying Sword Art Online, not here to treat it as an actual RPG game. Hope this helps, Ari have at it!
