"Winner: Quantum." Was the only thing the teacher saw for a small bit as the glowing letters appeared in the space between him and Kyo. His sword resting on his shoulder in triumph. Elation filled his chest for a brief moment, before his mind recalled the face of the other swordsman as he froze up. This had been a victory not of skill but of some other cause, and this covered him in a foul feeling. There was never any time that he had ever seen true fear and pain on the faces of his students, but having paid more attention to them than many of the other teachers Quantum knew that there was something wrong. Laying the larger weapon down with a heavy thud on the grass and dirt floor, Quantum kneeled next to the other player. He thought of what to say, but seeing the smile of the other player his mouth acted first. "Don't give me that crap." He said in response, losing his tone for a moment as he shook his head in disbelief. "You don't need to act tough after that loss." He continued before extending a hand to help the other player up. After they were both standing he asked. "Why did you freeze up there?" Quantum knew that his words were not very calmning, but he was not the psychologist here. And as his thoughts turned towards that branch of science his own problems came forward, the recent loss of his girlfriend in the opening days still heavy even though he did his best to put what energy he could use grieving into getting strong enough to beat this hell game.

Kyo sat with his smile still strong. "I just kinda- I dunno." he let out a little laugh before a sigh still holding the smile strong. "This game... changes ya'... ya' know?" he had though of how stupid he sounded but didn't really want to bring up the past to a complete stranger.  "Since the beginning of this nightmare- everyone kind of copes different, if they cope at all. I'm not quite sure I really have myself yet." he looked at the inquisitive white haired man. He was unsure if the man genuinely was concerned about him or if he just wanted to know why he didn't put up a fight.  "Sorry for not really giving my best... kinda defeats the purpose right?" he smiled died off at the last line with a little remorse for wasting Quantums time.

The teacher knew that the other person was avoiding the question, and he also knew from this that Kyo was not going to willingly talk about it. "I have seen so many people change as well. Others become capable of killing with ease, and those that look capable in the real world have yet to step out of the town." He said as he bent over to pick up his weapon off the ground. With an off hand he dusted off the dirt that clung to the edges of the blade, not afraid of knicking himself like he would have with a real knife. "Do not worry about it. This was nothing more than practice right?" Quantum said trying to shake off the appology for the fight. In truth he felt that he would not have won if there had not been that mental break when he was able to land that final cut. However the person that Quantum was would not let him leave from there without adding at least some advice, even if he was not the correct person to give it. "I have changed as well, and honestly I don't know which me was better. I think that we have to change here, maybe that's the point." He said trying to soothe the mind of the swordsman. With a flick of his wrist a friend request appeared in front of Kyo. "Look. I doubt you'll ever wish to talk about this with me. I doubt I'll ever speak of some of my pains to anybody here as long as we are trapped. But if you need a strong arm, or just wish to duel again let me know." Quantum said with a certainty. He would not be made a liar out of with this request, and who knows maybe if Kyo recovered enough then maybe he would be a suitable member of Quantum's immediate goal.

Kyo got up and dusted off his clothing a bit as the dirt clung from his fall to the massive blade. His wounds already started to recover from his battle healing talent. The friend request appeared as still startled him slightly. He's only seen a few of these so far and it was still rather unusual to have prompt boxes appear to him, even in a virtual world. Normally they come from him doing something, not others. "Hmm.. yeah perhaps we could do it again sometime, when i'm a bit stronger." he smiled and pressed the accept button. "S'pose its getting late anyway, good time to head home."  [Good to close it here?]
