((Note: This thread is open for two additional players and will result ultimately in the kidnapping of Relsialle to explain her temporary absence from the game – be advised that this ending is not avoidable and the final NPC will make an escape with her in tow. As always I will control the NPC portion with HP and statuses tracked by me, however your own player HP and any hits against you will be applied at your discretion. If there is no response, I will post every 24 hours until there is participants. ^_^)) ((Setting: Lake Eir Shoreline – early evening with the slightest remains of the sunset remaining in the sky. The air is slightly damp, with a soft breeze coming over the water chilling the players somewhat)) Relsialle stretched as the last glimmers of sunlight faded away in the distance, the softened light of the far-off Port Noir’s harbor came shimmering into view like distant starlight. Her footsteps were soft, the slow ambling pace of a girl in thought, lightly indenting in the sandy shoreline…the rhythmic sounds interrupted from time to time with the noise of a twig or thistle crunching underfoot. A quiet sigh escaped her, so much happening around her with so many new faces coming and going, even her devil-may-care attitude began to suffer…only so much death and despair a person can take. The recent news of the dungeon’s discovery hit the server like a shock, the first scouting raid beginning to take shape even when the horrors of the first floor battle hung around those that were unfortunate to take part. She hated the idea of someone younger taking her place, or even worse: her friends going without her there to help…but the thought still wore on her…did she really want to take yet another chance at seeing friends and acquaintances fall in front of her. The last agreement that she made with Kyo stuck in her mind like a needle, they wouldn’t tell of the final moments before the congratulations banner streamed across their interfaces…the bittersweet digital confetti reminding them of their failures. Still, it seemed that their collective secret hung on everyone, weather they all knew the grisly details or not…their own dwindling mental health wearing on the others like a lead weight. The girl gulped as she turned to look down at her feet, shaking her head free of the thoughts that she held at bay. They were all going to break soon if things continued at this place, the smiles and the growing friendships only acting as a temporary reprieve from the suffering that still continued. The wind pushed past her carrying a light chill, the moisture form the lake adding to the slight drop in temperature and causing small goosebumps to appear on the exposed parts of her legs, her blackened armor and skirt doing little to keep out the cold that bit at her for moving as such a slow pace. She dropped her gloved hands and paused a moment, shifting down to rub warmth into the slowly numbing limbs…proving that she could at least feel physical sensation over all of the din in her mind for the time being. She smiled softly, offering a slight chuckle to the wind, silently wondering what she would do if the next floor was tundra or ice…perish the thought. “Heh, at least I know I’d be able to rock a fur coat…” She said softly to herself, her thick accent adding music to the phrase…a giggle escaping her. The pink-haired rogue leaned back up, tucking her hands into the sash at her waist, the leather sheath of her dagger shifting back and forth at it place on her bare thigh, the weight moving with each step she took. A soft hum escaped her throat as she attempted to distract herself, and old song from a cover band she remembered opening for…a dim smoked filled club with as sound system that crackled every time that the bass player struck a note…another dive in a long string of bars with broken down stages, at least was real… She pulled her scarf like leather hood tighter around her neck to keep out the chill, turning to look back at the distant town…the warmth of the tavern fires calling to her as the day finally moved to close the debate to push forward entering her mind over the song that seemed to hold back all of the vexing thoughts that plagued her these days. She brought her hand up to her hair, pulling the leather cord tying it back free to allow the mass of bright pink locks to fall free down her back…the strands shifting slightly as she moved her hips. The cord was a simply bit, a tiny strand of black leather left over from the first floor…cord once used to tie a small bundle of tools needed for a quest…one of the she first quests she had taken after the events that locked them all in…a frivolous pixilated memento that now held meaning as it sat and found new use in her hands as simple decoration. |
