serenity is not stillness.

The town of beginnings, the place that all 10 000 players had been told that they would be held captive in the virtual world created by Kayaba Akihiko. It was also the place where Valerie had spent every day since she jumped into the world, because she was simply too shocked after hearing that she would actually die if her Hp bar went empty. She had begged for Sword art online for ages with one of the biggest reasons being so that she could let out her anger by smashing enemies around without any consequences. Valerie had been looking forward to being able to fight dangerous monsters without having to worry about actually dying, yet that wasn't possible anymore.
What a pity.
Though pretty much being a prisoner of Kayaba and having to fight her way out of here along with other people thus risking their lives, there were still several good things about the beautiful world she was stuck in. One of those things, was the inn she had been staying at pretty much every day. Why? Because they had great beds! Never had she ever lain in a more comfortable bed, and she already had a very high quality bed in her room. Sadly though, there was also another person often staying in the inn who made a inhuman amount of noise. She had already been woken up by his war-cry several times, and today was no exception.
1:30 AM, the scream or whatever it was could be heard through the whole inn. Immediately, Valerie woke up and got out of bed, furiously rubbing her eyes as she stumbled towards the door. As she was about to turn the knob and storm out of her room and hunt the one who was making the noises, she realized that she hadn't yet equipped her starting gear.. So after quickly doing that, she just rushed out, ready to politely ask the one who has been constantly keeping her awake to keep their mouths shut. If they wouldn't, Valerie would just kindly tell them to go to the underworld and would then take her trusty spear out to perhaps scare them a little? There were a lot of better ways to take care of this situation, but she wasn't thinking very clearly at the moment.
After walking back and forth on the first floor of rooms, Valerie actually remembered that she didn't know the location of the creature who was producing these incredibly loud noises. Valerie was expecting the noise to be a severe case of snoring, in which case she would have to either find a new inn, or scare that person out of the inn. If it wasn't snoring, which she hoped, there would be more possibilities. Anyway, right now she had to find the location. So, Valerie walked back to her own room, which was at the end of the corridor, and leaned her head towards the door of the room to the opposite of hers.
Minutes passed, and Valerie couldn't hear anything coming from behind the door, nor did she even hear the war cry anymore. Great, just when she headed out to search the monster had decided to shut up. Just when she turned around though, ready to head back to her room which was only 2 steps away, the noise echoed through the corridor, leaving her frozen in place by anger and fright. With goosebumps on her arms, she walked to the room next to the one she was standing before right now, and waited in front of the door. If anyone in the corridor would now come out, they'd see her on her knees, left ear pushed against the door, sitting by someone else's room like a little stalker. Now isn't that great? She looked around a few times when she realized she really was in a bad position, but she'd stay there until she would hear the noise again, no matter what.
10 seconds later, the cry of the terrifying monster that haunted the inn could be heard once again, clearly from the room she was standing in front of.
Valerie took a deep breath and got up. She was almost losing her calm, and was about to literally kick against this stupid door. Even all those years at the strict private school, where she way thought to always stay calm, weren't good enough to keep her completely calm when in a situation like this.
She didn't care though, because this was literally ear torture.
She knocked on the wooden door five times, each knock harder than the one before it. Valerie then waited patiently for about 5 seconds, but heard no reply. Once again, she knocked 5 times, now even harder than before.
No. Reply.
Her face was now beet red. She was going to talk to this person right now, no matter what. So she lifted her left hand, which was already a fist, and hit the door three times, creating a noise that should be hard enough to wake someone up easily.
And it did.
Behind the door angry footsteps could soon be heard, and the door flew open, causing Valerie to take a step back. A large male around 6'2" Stood in front of her, looking down at the french girl like she was nothing. What a filthy pig.
"WHAT" was yelled in her face by the stupid pig in front of her. She could feel some spit splatter onto her face. It was truly disgusting. What was also disgusting is the fact that he was yelling, in the middle of the night. The noises she had made by hitting the door might not have been very great either, but compared to the noise he produced that was nothing.
"Why hello kind Sir. I just knocked on your door to inform you that there is probably a demonic entity living inside of your throat who is making an incredible amount of noise. I was wondering if you could maybe keep your mouth closed so I would be able to sleep?" Valerie looked up at the male, wiping the spit off of her face while talking to him. It was clear to her that she right now was in a very bad position, and could possibly be thrown against the wall in just a few seconds. Luckily there wasn't any pain in the game.
The male's reaction was better than she had expected.. Instead of trying to physically harm her, the male spat on her face! She was at the point of breaking down right now. Just to make it better, she heard footsteps behind her.. It seemed like someone else had also woken up.
