[PTab=«BIOGRAPHY»]
Shila grew up as an only child with a loving family. In a small flat in the middle of the bustling city of London, most of her life was filled up with her idolized father. Her father was a poor writer who wrote amazing novels about swashbuckling heroes fighting for the greater good and foiling the plots of evil villains. She couldn't imagine how such fantastical worlds could exist in his head. Her mother worked hard to support the family as a teacher. London was a hard city to live in. Though life was difficult, it was good. She had friends, school was stressful, but she was a diligent student.
If only things had stayed the way they were. Maybe she wouldn't have changed. At the age of 14, her father was arrested for murder of three of her mother's students and was put into prison for 10 years. Shila couldn't understand why the best person in the world, who loved her most in the world was being called disgusting, a criminal, and "he'll be better off dead". It was weird seeing him constantly monitored by policemen. She believed in her heart that no matter what, he was innocent.
School became harder and harder and what was the use of having a normal life centered around friends, boys, and meaningless banter. Everyone was so stupid and she herself was a stupid wreck of a human being...she couldn't do anything right anymore. She could barely hold a conversation. Her mother became more and more fragile. Reality was slowly falling apart. Eventually, Shila's mother decided it would be good to get away from everything, so they moved to Tokyo after a job was offered for teaching English. Shila couldn't help thinking that she had abandoned her father. She didn't want to grow up and go to college and have the regular routine of life. She had been robbed of the rest of her childhood and it wasn't fair. Everyday she would stay up past midnight playing video games. She would only see her mother in the morning slumping at the kitchen table.
One day Shila was looking on the internet for more games when she came across the new Sword Art Online game. "Aincrad..." she wondered. She looked at the brightly colored advertisements of the mystical land. "It looks just like one of dad's books." She scrolled down more. "And the Nerve Gear makes it almost real!"
Too bad she's trapped...but is it that bad?
