The party continued walking down into the first corridor of the dungeon, the outer lining walls lit by torches every so many feet, allowing for them to be able to see decently well, which was reassuring for Tesh, being that he didn’t have the detection or night vision talent, so as long as it stayed at least relatively lit he would be okay for combat. After introducing himself, Starlight asked a similar question as his to the other two in the party that had more experience being in the dungeon, which was only natural since her and Tesh have never been in here before, unknowledgeable of the dungeon and what it had in store for them, they need more than the typical amount of guidance from the party leader. Before Elpharae said anything about the plans for the upcoming adventure, going deeper into the dungeon, Relsialle gave the group a some valuable information about what they might want to do, regarding going deeper into the dungeon looking for any hidden chambers or an unexplored off-shoot of sorts, being that these main corridor aren’t going to be holding anything significant other than the possible respawns that may occur. Her previous experience being her was showing now, which a comforting thought, maybe she had a mapping skill of sorts and was able to record this sort of data? Either way, Tesh was still too inexperienced with the dungeon crawling aspect of this world still and would not give it much thought, other than her having a good deal of experience being her, as well as, being unaware of the talent mapping. Tesh nodded, agreeing with what she had to say, while at the same time was beginning to think about what exactly the roles, or positions, would be for the party members…more or less how they would want to function together as a whole, but before he was able to give it much thought Elpharae, the party leader, explained to the group, based off of her observations of the party, how they should probably function together. Unfortunately, Tesh was still sitting on the edge of turning level two, so being able to be more of a support, watching over Starlight, he wasn’t currently able to, so the boys plan was to have himself watch over Starlight while they tried to create openings for Tesh to attack, in addition, Relsialle would be more of an assassin type role, not focusing on defense or a specific offense, rather she would take any opportunity to take her enemy when she had the chance, letting her kind of roam and do what she thought she needed to at each given moment. Tesh thought this was a good plan and agreed with him. As they drew closer to the end of the corridor, about to turn the corner, following the only path that was visibly available, Elpharae was able to detect enemies on the move… three kobolds, one kobold trooper and two kobold patrolmen. They were making their way nearer to the party…Relsialle would take the level three Trooper and the other three would take on the two patrolman, this was to make sure the level differentiation would cause any significant issues. “Sounds good” Tesh whispered to Elpharae, nodding, preparing himself for the fight that was about to commence, with his sword drawn out in front of himself. As the kobolds drew close, they were in a formation where the two patrolmen where in front, while the trooper was behind them, as they charged forward. He saw the rest of the group being to ready themselves as well, as Elpharae was taking more of a defensive position to watch over Starlight. The first patrolman on their left came in to strike first with his mace, swinging down vertically, directed at Tesh’s head, Tesh used his acrobatics skill to dodged the attack that was well choreographed and easily read, gliding to the left of the blow. The kobold used an incredible amount of strength and momentum into the attack that when he missed it through him slightly off balance when the mace swung down towards the ground colliding with nothing. Tesh saw his opening, bringing his right foot back, extending his right arm, bringing his two handed sword down to his mid-section, titling the tip of the blade outwards, he swung his sword parallel to the ground at the kobold slicing into his arm that was holding the mace. He noticed that from the level differential he didn’t do as much damage as he was used to, back when he was killing boars, wolves, and nepenthes, outside of the dungeon. He still took a rather decent amount of damage luckily but it wasn’t as much as he would’ve liked for, or was used to. Not wanting to leave himself open any longer for another attack or a counter-attack from the same kobold, she maneuvered his feet and momentum to slide several feet backs words, telling Elpharae or Starlight to switch with him for the next attack.

[Starlight]

....Waited a minute...? Why are I the only one who needs to be watched over?! I don't need to be watched over, seriously guys, anything that is a level 3 or under I really can run away! I'm not going to die just because some wind blew at my general direction.....argggg this sucks! It really does!! I don't wanted to be treated like a kid, because I am a completely rational mature adult who never loses her coolness and always remains in a complete 100% cool level head, and FYI, I also never fear anything ever and never let anything lets between me and my focus! 

Okay, just because I have never been in a dungeon before, doesn't mean that I can't contribute to the team! I need to prove that I can fight and help! Alright...the next enemy that I encounter, if it is level 3 or below, I am attacking it, I'm calling dips right now so no one gets in my way.

That was fast...but I am still okay!!

Starlight quickly looked over to Relsialle, or at least, where she was the last time she saw her, well she was no longer there, Starlight has no idea where she is right now, but close to NOT panic right there and then. That part of the corridor is now empty but for the swinging candle light dancing in the cold wind of the dungeon.

Okay...still fine, I am fine. I'm sure she was just taking a break and will go ahead to take on the Kobold with the Dagger any second now...

Taking a deep breath, she looked over to Elpharae who was standing right behind her. Well, is this what watching over me means? It is actually kind of nice having someone higher leveled standing close by, kind of makes me feel safe...but that's not important right now! Because I don't need to be feeling safe! I need to feel the danger and let my survival instinct or my rage takes over, I feel like my fights get better when then situation gets worst. BUUUTTTT, if this was a fire emblem game, having an higher level unit beside me means my defense just got waaay up right??

....it means now I am invincible now right?? (No.) Well, but I definitely feel my defense just got up, (no again, it was an illusion). But also! All of my stats also got up, like, strength and speed and skill all goes up by one, except my defense which goes up by ten! (once again no, this is not fire emblem, all stats remains the same.)


The enemies are fast approaching from the corridor ahead, remember that this is an one way, the group cannot circle around the enemies, unless with <acrobatic skill> and by running on the walls, which skill FYI, Starlight does not have. 

"We could perform the tried and true method of "stab till it's dead"."

"That was the old way...It was the true way, and it was the only way..." Starlight says in a solemn tone, she reaches for her inventory and switched to her great sword. All fun aside, although I completely agree with the statement and the holy way of stab it till it is dead, stabbing it with my long sword which only has 10 attack point is just not do-able. I would have to stab it well into the night before it is dead, although I personally have no problem doing just that, something tells me the Kobold Patrolmen would respectfully disagree. 

Starlight's gaze changes as the she watches the first Kobold Patrolmen cross over to where her sword art would have been able to reach, if she was still equipping with her long sword, and waited more. I am serious about my statement before, I do fully intended to fight...but I will not be able to kill it, at best I can soften it up, but I can influence how much health it has remaining and let whoever stands behind me to finish it up. First encounter in the dungeon, now is the part where no one should have taken any damage themselves.

Starlight narrowed her eyes watching the situation carefully as Tesh charged speeily forward aiming for the Kobold Patrolmen to the up right of Starlight. She watches as his attack connected with the arm of the Kobold Patrolmen that was holding the mace. He was not able to do much damage, but he opened up a golden opportunity by having knocked down the weapon arm of the Patrolmen, it is now momentarily cannot block or counter attack. Tesh switched to the back of the formation after finishing up his attack.

This...is a double edge opportunity though, having been hit by Tesh, that Patrolmen is also now falling behind its friend, running behind the Patrolmen, and in front of the Trooper. If I attack it now, I can do a lot of damage to it, since it is still in shock, but I will be leaving myself wide open to attacks from its two close-by teammates. What should I do, should I do the same as Tesh and attack the full heath Patrolmen now and switch to the back, let Elp handles all three?

No, then I wasted a turn and wasted the opportunity, I didn't help at all. Starlight dare not take her eyes away from the enemies in the front, so she still cannot check where the pink hair ninja is. I know that Elp is behind me right now, I will just have to trust that both of Elp and Rel will block the attacks from the Patrolmen's friends and not let me die on the first encounter! I'm going in. 

Starlight swipe against her sword guard and activated her sword art in a flash of red light, she dash speedily forward, one step around the full health Patrolmen and avoiding it, losing a bit of speed and momentum because of the side step, she stabbed her sword into the Patrolmen, right in the center of its chest, hitting twice, the strikes leaving red dash on the Patrolmen's imagine. Starlight forcibly stopped herself in her charge, stopping before she could run right into the Trooper behind. With this last turnabout, she half turned facing the Patrolmen that she has just attacked, (Mace Down) and brought her sword up to her head level and right back down again, cutting the Patrolmen hard across its back leaving a nasty looking red cut. 

She hopes that she survives the friends' vengeance....

Starlight dashed in.

Elpharae narrowed his eyes to help him focus before sliding in. The smooth floor of the dungeon was chilled and slightly cold, and he steeled his nerves to keep from shivering. The heft of his copper rapier felt lovely in his hands, like he was greeting an old friend, and it was warmer than the dungeon air itself, keeping him grounded. He watched her movements and then shifted into a easier stance, a little more relaxed, getting ready to perform his next move.

He flipped in a steady arc using Acrobatics, and landed back-to-back with Starlight, glancing at the monsters that surrounded them. Alright, it didn't seem too bad...and so he murmured a warning to Starlight and told her that he was going to perform a paralysis effect and to cover her own back for a bit, sliding in between the two nearest kobolds, a Dagger-wielder and a Mace-wielder, but not the one that Starlight had faced before, trusting her to hold her own for a bit.

He used his Detection to keep himself aware of his surroundings, making sure Starlight wasn't in grave danger before activating Jyun with a quick flick of his wrist, and lowering his hand to stab grimly through the two Kobolds. The hit was deep, cutting, and utterly gruesome, leaving a wickedly large gouge in the monster. Truth be told, Elpharae was a little proud of his handiwork. His dark eyes flickered. His hit had been shallower than he liked, though.

To be honest, he was a little shocked his Sword Art seemed to be functioning so well, but dismissed the fact as he moved in, eyes analyzing his earlier strike. It had taken a bit before his rapier could finally plunge in, and when it did, it slid through like butter. So he needed more initial force, which would be hard, considering his build. The brunet glanced around him before gently tugging Starlight away when she finished her first fight, and shouted over the sounds of fighting to let himself be heard. "Tesh, attack the monsters I've paralyzed."

He then turned back to Starlight, mouth pulled into a firm line. "You've finished your fight, right? Mind finishing this one?" He said no more, instead letting his eyes flicker to the the edge of the corridor. He lowered his voice. "I think I sense something, but I'm not sure what. Give me a minute, and I'll check it out. Two minutes. And if anything happens, yell." He then disappeared midair, his form turning invisible as he activated his Stealth talent. Using Acrobatics, he barely managed to vault over the fight before landing next to a pink-haired player who seemed out of breath, oddly.

Elpharae had a habit of ignoring his surroundings when he was in a fight except for the people directly around him, so he gave a start when he materialized and she touched his shoulder. "Player killer down there." She said lowly, eyes shielded to Elpharae. The brunet immediately stiffened. A PKer in the dungeons? The prospect was terrifying. Relsaille seemed to notice his anxiety, for she offered to go down there with Athena and Meijin. Someone needed to take care of the newbies, after all. Elpharae hesitantly nodded when she insisted.

The bright-haired woman flashed a quicksilver grin before disappearing, Athena and Meijin turning to some source of unknown noise before nodding and disappearing down the corridor, thankfully unnoticed by the Kobolds. It had been...roughly a minute and a half. Elpharae slid back into the fight, feeling himself find his form back-to-back now with Tesh. He spotted a hole in the second Mace-wielder's attack, and stabbed hard, his rapier flashing.

Tesh was facing the dagger-wielder, Elpharae the second mace-user, and both of their monsters seemed to be very much active from his paralysis, which must have worn off. That was, if their attack was any indication, which it was. He caught Starlight's eye, silently communicating that she would be the back-up now, since she had long since finished her kill. The two monsters were almost dead, anyways.

He narrowed his eyes after getting hit and scraped on one shoulder with the mace before lashing out, cleaving a spot through the monster's skull with a crunch noise. The red mark looked ridiculous on his opponent, but Elpharae perservered, slicing through the neck with his next strike. His monster exploded in a shower of pixels, and the brunet sheathed his rapier ineffectually, running his gaze over the others as he coughed slightly into his hand, wondering.

"Relsaille, Athena, and Meijin went off together to catch some prey." He finally let out, not trying to reveal the full truth, his worry locked behind a calm mask that would be near impossible to decipher. "They should be fine, in case you're wondering. Together, they have a combined level of around eleven, I think. And besides...I trust them." He glanced at the others. "We should continue on or turn back, but I, personally, want to continue on. Your thoughts? We shouldn't linger too long, after all."

Sliding back to the group, after landing a strike on the Kobold, that was wielding the mace, in his arm, leaving an opening for either Elpharae or Starlight to make another attack, Tesh planted his feet in the ground in the middle of the other two. After a slight hesitation, Starlight dashed into combat, landing another two strikes onto the Kobold straight into the middle of its chest. As she came to halt, behind the Kobold, she then slashed deep into the back of the monster.

As the beast would burst into many pixels after having received numerous blows, Tesh realized that she was still standing in range of being counter attacked by one of the Kobolds friends. Before Tesh was able to make a move, Elpharae used his acrobatics to make a rather graceful leap over to their comrade, landing back to back with Starlight. A breathe of relief came from his lungs, feeling better that he was able to get there in time before another one of the Kobolds attacked the dark haired girl.

Elpharae was able to land an impressive stab through both of the Kolbolds next. As Tesh waited for him to give the signal when to switch in next to attack he noticed that above their heads, on their health bars, the yellow status box that read ‘PAR’, meaning that the two enemies were rendered helpless for the time being. Thinking that this would be his best chance to make a move, he began to dash in as well, at the same time that Elpharae would call over to him to attack the ones that had been paralyzed from his sword art, perfect timing, he thought to himself as he continued moving in on the two Kobolds.

Moving into combat, Tesh saw that Elpharae said something quickly to Starlight and vanished momentarily from combat. Without thinking anything of it, and without hesitating, Tesh brought his sword up to waist height, as quickly as he could, making it over the two, he ran the blade of his two hander straight through the belly of the dagger-wielding Kobold, who was still paralyzed from Elpharae’s attack previously. As the blade sunk deeper and deeper into the skin of the hairy beast, Tesh noticed that the paralyzing effect had worn off when the yellow box under its health bar faded away. He had left himself open with this attack, he thought that he could’ve been able to do more damage or the effect would have been able to last long enough for him to get his sword back out of the beast before it could’ve made a counter attack, but it was too late. The dagger-wielding Kobold regained movement in its limbs, with the blade still sunk into its stomach, the Kobold raised his arm up and stabbed Tesh back, straight into his left forearm, which was holding the blade with the other. The pain was bearable but intense, gritting his teethe together as the Kobold wouldn’t release his grip from the dagger, Tesh used his right hand, letting go of his sword, only to hold it with his left hand, to pull the dagger out of his arm. Holding onto the hand of the Kobold that was holding the dagger, getting it out from his skin, he kicked the Kobold, right next to where his blade was inserted into its stomach, throwing the monster back several paces.

Regaining his composure, and grabbing back onto his sword with both hands, Elpharae had reappeared behind, in the same manner that he had done previously with Starlight. Back to back, he was going to finish off the dagger-wielding Kobold, while Elpharae finished off the mace-wielding one. Tilting his head slightly to the left, he spoke quickly to Elpharae, “I got this one.” Then quickly dashed back off towards the Kobold, knowing that he was at the advantage with the size differential in weapons, he wanted to quickly end this without taking any more damage than he had already received. Sliding forward he activated his sword art, dragging it behind him with his right arm, the blade begins to turn black, almost invisible in the darkness of the dungeon. Taking a couple more steps forward, he grabs the hilt with his other hand and with all his strength whips the blade around horizontally, and spinning 360 degrees, slicing straight through the waist of the monster. As he came back around from the spin, he realized that his attack did land perfectly, watching the torso of the Kobold leave the other half as it gracefully floated off into the air, before exploding into many pixels.

Satisfied with his kill, Tesh turned around to the group, noticing that Elpharae had also finished off her opponent. Seeing that the rest of the group had vanished, the boy had explained what happened. Tesh was a little confused by their actions and why they would do such a thing with only themselves, even though they were lower level, it wasn’t exactly smart to break up the group. Either way Tesh didn’t let the thought consume him anymore and nodded back to Elpharae.

“I vote to keep going, especially if our allies have continued on, I wouldn’t like to just leave them in here while we take our leave.”

[Starlight]

Breathing heavily, Starlight stabbed her great sword into the ground near her, narrowing her eyes as she brought up her free hand to wipe away the sweat beside her chin, taking a look around as all three Kobold monsters were disappearing into showers of pixels all around them, in different speed.

She pulls down her right hand and silently rubbed the wrist of her left hand, head tilted down for a bit of resting. Elp had disappeared into the shadows for something and had once again, re-appeared to finish off handing finishing blows to the Kobold monsters. During this brief intermittent time, Tesh and Starlight was holding off the monster attacks, with mostly Tesh going on the offense and Starlight providing aggro distraction support.

But that now Elp is back again, Starlight had a brief moment of recovery. Activating her detection skill and letting her detection going forward, further into the corridor, she still could not detect any traps, or any fork roads, it felt like it was just a straight one way road forward. However, along the walls, there seems to be a door, but from her detection skill, she felt like the door was locked and since she did not have the lock picking skill, she left it alone and let her detection goes further until it reaches the end of its range. Starlight closed her eyes in frustration and shakes her head to clear away the imagines in her head, it seems, as far as she could detect...it was just the one way forward and outside of what she could detect it was darkness and the unknown.  

Starlight watches as Elp walked with purpose pass her, and silently observe the conversation that was going on. 

"We should continue on or turn back, but I, personally, want to continue on. Your thoughts? We shouldn't linger too long, after all."

“I vote to keep going, especially if our allies have continued on, I wouldn’t like to just leave them in here while we take our leave.”

Starlight quietly nodded her head in agreement, there was no point in staying here, more monsters could spawn, this point of location, in between two tight walls, was really not doing any good for her movement, if she wants to be helpful in this fight they must move forward to somewhere else. Retreating was not an option in her mind, for her first dungeon run, she did not want to turn back after the first ever monster encounter. Besides...none of them have taken much damage from the encounter at all, they are all still in their prime condition, it is much too early to retreat they can still go forward.

(If this is present day starlight it would have been Frowning, she paused for a bit and says in an even tone "...Let's move forward then. There is no point wasting time here"<-just to show character development.)

Starlight squeeze her eyes shut and hold both of her fists in front of here, shaking quietly in excitement for a bit. "...ALRIGHT~!!!" then she quickly puts both hand to cover her mouth, eyes widen large and quickly looks around, making sure that her sudden outburst did not attack any enemy attention over this way, before lowering her two hands and lean forward, whisper conspiratorially.."Alright...now that we have come to an agreement on what to do....shhhhhh, we should move forward...follow-me...let's go...I will lead the way...." and then she looks around quickly once more, making sure that no monster has sneakily sneak on them before nodding to herself, she crunch forward and sneak pass Elp and Tesh (why) and footing light underneath her weight, she quietly moves forward.

She did not look back but she thinks her two teammate were following behind her.

As she was sneaking across the corridor (again, why), she was running her detection skill all along the walls, the ceiling and the floor ahead of them. Double checking just to make sure that there was in fact, no traps and no monster ambush.

Until she reaches the door on the left side of the wall, it was a big and heavily wooden door, locked with a dark grey steel lock. Without thinking too much, she grabbed the lock and tries to yank it open....it did not work. Then she peers at the lock, trying to figure it out...it looks normal, like it would need a key for it to be open. She checks the surrounding for keys, at this empty corridor, there were none. She turns back to look at the lock intensively, staring at it as if were some great puzzle of life and held the answer to the universe.  She turns to look at her teammate "So...do any of you happen to have the lock picking skill...?" ...she takes the answer as negative...

She thought to herself, if this was an anime, she could pull out a hair pin and started to ram it open, but then she would still need the lock picking skill...

Sighing, she let go of the lock, giving up on opening it. She leans in to listen to the other side of the door, there seems to be something on the other side, making some rumbling noise as if it was hungry. She frowns and took a step back, she runs her detection skill, but it was blocked by the door, she could not figure out what it was on the other side, or how many.

This thing...on the other side...it can't break through this door...can it...?

Starlight frowns and take a glance back at her teammate, and whisper quietly "there's something on the other side, but I can't figure out what it was...but I don't think it had noticed us yet, so let's go before it did..." with that she turns and quickly moved pass the wooden door, long black hair waving around behind her. 

Running her detection skill as she went ahead, the prolong activation was starting to hurt her head, but she is not brave enough to deactivate it. Shaking her head to clear away the accumulation of images in her mind, she would rather suffer from a headache then to get caught in surprise here in the dungeon of all places, as a lower level player, it would spell disaster.

What the...?!!

The images running inside of her head, on the right side of the wall, there was an open door leading up to an empty room, but since it was empty, she walks passed it without giving it another thought. Scanning all four side of the stone walls, the images up ahead seems to be com-merging into one image up in front of them. Four scans merging into one, showing that they are about to reached the end of the corridor, three walls stood there forming a dead end.

What?! 

Picking up her pace, she can't believe what her detection skill was telling her, so she runs up further into the corridor, she must make sure with her own eyes, that they have truly hit a dead end. Running and stopping in front of the three walls of the dead end. Starlight stood there in shock. 

What?!! But..but...it was just a straight corridor, we encounter one group of enemies, is there truly no other way to go? 

She looks left and right, then stepped back to look at the ceiling, then turns around and look for hidden pathway, running detection frantically, but everything returns back to her as negative. There was no other way to go.

Secretly, she realized and comes to an reconciliation with herself, it was the locked door. There is probably another path just behind the locked door, but given that they have no other way to get pass the door, other then brutally breaking it open with force, which will attract the attention of whatever, and however many monsters on the other side immediately to their location. 

Ah....

Scenarios running in her head fast, she glanced back at her teammate. Elp is probably higher level, but she is on her own at this point, without the other two higher level players' help, before, their combined levels was just enough to cover for two newbies, but now...If Elp has to protect the two newbies on her own, she will get dragged down. There is no way pass this, the combined level of this group...is too low for unknown enemy encounter, without a probable solution of sneaking pass that door undetected, her first journey to the dungeon might have to be, unfortunately ended here. 

Sighing and hanging her head low as she comes to the final conclusion, what was I thinking...? At some point, deeply, I knew that it might have to come to this...I am simply not ready for the dungeon yet, just because I tagged along with some high level players, and they let me tag along, and I try to prove myself...nothing was changed. It didn't change the fact that I was not ready..I can't stay a child forever...I can't hoped to be covered by others and get in on the ride forever...at some point, I must become stronger too...

She lifted her head up and closed her eyes. She opens them again, pulling up her own HUD as she send two friend requests to the two teammate, and without waiting for their answer and without looking back, or providing an answer to her behavior, she walks passed them back towards where they came from.

There was nothing else left to do, beside getting back safely and tomorrow, I will try taking up quests again and get stronger...

Thinking quietly to herself, she walks forward towards the beginning and the end of the path of this corridor.

(OOC: it was really hard to get back to beginner Starlight's head set, she was more chirpy and energetic then)

As the group of three now decided that they all wanted to continue on down in the dungeon together even further, they began to walk towards the end of the corridor of the first room, where Athena and Rel had run off to early, having the knowledge that there was a player killer afoot in the latter sections of the dungeon.

Beginning their forward march Starlight would begin to act a little strange, as if something was about to attack them, sneaking around the corridor checking all of the walls and ceiling. Tesh was lacking both detection and night vision, and so he was incapable of being able to follow her as she quickly scurried off into the darkness. Looking over to Elpharae, with his improved detection, would just begin to walk over to the other end of the corridor where the locked door was, Tesh would follow her, being the only one of the two that he had vision of. Meeting Starlight at the door she would tell the other two that she believed that there was something on the other side of the door, but didn’t notice the three of them yet. Quickly, once again, she would scurry of again into the darkness, out of Tesh’s view. During this time Elpharae would look towards Tesh and inform him of her guild master, Athena, running into some difficulties further down in the dungeon, in regards to the person that they deemed as the player killer, and quickly told him to grab Starlight and leave immediately, vanishing into thin air right in front of his own eyes.

The nerves began to build up now, Starlight was nowhere to be seen, Elpharae had disappeared, and if they were having trouble down further in the dungeon, they needed to leave now. Turning around, there was a faint glimpse of the outlining of the wall that he could see, as long as he focused hard enough, walking quickly, but as quiet as possible, he moved along the stone wall, running his fingers along the side of it for orientation, in the direction that Starlight had ran off too. Moving further and further down the long, straight corridor, he began to worry more and more that Starlight was in a bigger situation than they both could handle, especially by herself, she and him were only level one after all. Breathing heavily, as the anxiety was beginning to get to him, he finally bumped into Starlight, who was walking back towards the entrance of the dungeon, looking upset possibly? Tesh quickly reached out his arms, whispering to her so that she could see him and not attack him. “Starlight its Tesh….I can’t see anything in this darkness, please guide me back, we need to leave this instant! Elpharae had to move forward to support her guild leader further in the dungeon, we need to leave now.” Trying to place his hand on her shoulder so that he could follow her through the darkness of the straight corridor that led back to the main room, where they first entered.

As Starlight was walking down the corridor, for some reason, maybe it was her own imagination. But the surrounding seems to be getting darker and darker. She recheck for own detection skill, through her talent, it would still alert her to possible traps or enemy encounter, but it was legitimately getting hard to see for her. She wished that she has the night vision skill, that would have been much more helpful in this kind of situation. But detection would do as well, it is still better than nothing.

Starlight looks back at Tesh, it is now just the two of them, two level one newbies here on the first floor dungeon. She did not like the thought at all. In fact, the change of situation has called for a change of plan entirely, now it is not a matter of wants but a necessity that they do a change of plan. They can no longer afford to explore the place in their own pace, in fact, they need to get out the dungeon fast. Everything in this dungeon now is a higher level than they are, and the monsters are more than likely to come in in groups. With no one here to bail them out, the two newbies' lives are in serious danger. 

Starlight narrowed her eyes and started to pick up her pace, she was getting really worried. This will be her first time in the dungeon, so she does not really know what to expect. I mean, is this kind of things normal? Maybe the dungeon's lighting does change randomly from time to time and it means nothing, there was no way of knowing for sure.

Sighing internally to herself, she really wished that Rel was still here, she seems to be really knowledgeable of the dungeon and maybe she could tell them more, and alert them, on what to watch out for.

But that was a useless thought now, what has happened have happened and now all that they can do is just to move forward on this road. 

Starlight closed her eyes and made up her mind, she opened her eyes again, filled with determination. 

“Starlight its Tesh….I can’t see anything in this darkness, please guide me back, we need to leave this instant! Elpharae had to move forward to support her guild leader further in the dungeon, we need to leave now.” 

Elp moves to another location?! ....this is bad.


Starlight nodded and motion for Tesh to stay close, the last thing that they need right now is to get separate even further. For 2 level 1s, if they are alone in the dungeon, then it is pretty much game over in any way you look at it.

"Don't fret, we are almost near the exit now, just keep up your guard and don't panic. Be on watch out for anything, but don't panic, let's move." Starlight turns back and walks speedily towards the room that they first came in.

Her detection tells her that there is nothing in front of them, no monsters, no traps, and that they were so close to the beginning that they could almost see some light at the end of the tunnel ahead of them.

Starlight internally let out a sigh of relief, and she picks up her pace even further, just when she thought she was near the exit.

BUMB!!!!

Startled, Starlight quickly turns her head to look at the direction of where the loud noise was coming from. The was some monsters that had burst open the door on the right hand side behind them, from inside the door, some monsters started to rush out, but she hasn't have night vision so she doesn't know what kind of monsters and how many are there. She only knows that she did not want to engaged in combat right now, not as level one.

"Tesh! We need to move, now! We are very near the door, we can get out before they reach us!" With the last warning, Starlight turns her head and quickly started to run towards the exit, not looking back now.

As she stepped into the room of the beginning, a large iron gate suddenly appeared and opened the giant door, signalling that having reached one end in the dungeon, the explorer are now able to leave. What happens next will be up to them.

Nodding to Tesh, motioning to him to stay close to her as they would make their way towards the exit of the dungeon. Even though she would speak to him in words that were obviously trying to bring down the anxiety levels of their new situation, Tesh was still aware of just how awful of a situation they had gotten themselves into now. Both of them, even if they fought together, would have no means of being able to fight anything in this dungeon, maybe one level two Kobold, but that would be about it.

Following behind the girl, keeping his hand on her left shoulder to be able to keep his orientation of where she was going, they would speedily walk towards and enter the first corridor that they had entered, upon coming into the dungeon. There was some light now in this corridor, at least more than just nothing, so Tesh was somewhat able to see again. Removing his hand from her shoulder, as she would let out a deep sigh of relief, he would do the same, but the biggest concern on his mind was how long it would take before the monsters would respawn, the few that they had killed earlier.

Before they would stay long enough to find out how exactly long what would be, a loud pounding sound came from behind them, the sound of a door getting blown through. As monsters began to pour out from the door, unknowing of what they were as well, due to a lack of lighting, Starlight yelled to Tesh that they needed to leave now, and began to take a full sprint towards the large iron gate that had appeared in front of them at the end of the corridor. Tesh without hesitating did the same exact thing, running as fast as he possibly could towards the door, Starlight in front of him, he could hear the sounds on metal scrapping against the stone floor, as well as the grunting and heavy breathing of what was probably many Kobolds behind them. Not wanting to even take the time to see for himself how close they were, hall he needed to know is that they were indeed gaining on him. As they approached the door, he watched as Starlight pressed the Iron Gate door with all of her strength, forcing the door to open, exiting the dungeon. Taking a few more paces forward, he managed to make it through the door just fast enough for Starlight to slam the gate shut, not allowing the monsters to exit the dungeon and chase them even further.

Coming to a halt, out of breathe, the two of them sat down for a moment in the grass in front of the gate, looking back to the gate of the dungeon. Placing his arms backwards, behind him, propping himself up as he leaned backwards, he let his head hand behind himself as well, looking up towards the sky through the trees above them, still regaining his breath. Speaking with an out of breathe kind of voice, “Well, that was close. At least we are alive though.” Looking back over towards her, with his head still hanging backwards, “Thank you for leading me out though…seriously, I would probably be dead if you had left me.” Looking back at the young man, she would tell him, “Well of course, we are a party after all right?” Tesh began to grin from her comment and said, “Yeah, you are right.” Standing back up on his feet, he reached his hand out to Starlight, who was still sitting, and helped her get up. “Well, I think we can call it a day, let’s go home.” Agreeing with him, the two would walk back to Tolbana, hoping that their other party members would be okay, but after all, what could two level one’s have done in such a situation? Plus they were higher level and could manage the dungeon, unlike Tesh and Starlight. As they made it back to town, the two would part ways, heading back to their own places.
