Remember, there are strength in numbers. Here at SAO-RPG we have no penalty for working in a group. If you want to have 4 people gather around a boar and poke it to death with a stick, so be it. Parties can be up to 6 players. No more than 6 is acceptable in one party however you may still have more than 6 active players in one thread. Just note whos in which party either by our forum posting template or dictate it somewhere in the post if you don't use our template.
When in a party, it is significantly safer. Most enemies can only focus one player at a time. They may have area of effect attacks which can hit people close together, but they will only be aiming at one of them. This allows for a player to more or less 'tank' the enemy while the others get free blows. The trade off to this is when a player takes on focus, they have a brief opening on an unguarded attack. For example. If Kyo is fighting a boar with Kazeru in his party, and the boar is attacking Kyo, he may instead decide to hit it as hard as he can in its most guarded area, causing a brief stun. He would then yell switch, notifying Kazeru to take agro if she so pleases. This will allow for a single attack to go through without applying the boars defense to the attack, but then the boar would be focusing Kazeru from there on. This isnt incredibly important for non-event threads as stats aren't a significant thing, however once events start hopefully everyone understands how this works as it will be important.
As for friends, in order to be able to track someone and meet up with them easily you must be friends with them. In a thread, simply request to add them as your friend and you will have access to their location at any given time as well as means of messaging them. This is all in character actions, so just remember who your friends are. We may add this to the character threads soon but at the moment there isn't enough people to make this a dire need. This also allows people who want to find you the ability to, even if its for less than friendly deeds. Careful who you decide to call an ally.
