“Yep, benefits of carrying these little guys…” Relsialle answered with a grin, finally turning to Janeiro with her slender fingers rising to pluck the sharpened piece of metal from her lips. The thief’s eyebrows raised slightly in response to the teen suddenly siding with her plan, especially after Rue’s instantaneous rejection, not entirely sure that the pair would entertain her sudden insight given their all-too-careful nature. It was a gamble to be sure, no doubt, but honestly given the vexing nature of the chamber something had to be done to speed things up before they turned on each other yet again. The rogue smiled wider as she turned to Rue, finally sticking her tongue out at the soil-sport, clearly relishing in being on the victorious side of the vote for once. Her fingers twirled the thin blade over her knuckles back and forth as she looked to where the others were placed…assuming easily that the party was far out of range of anything that this beginner dungeon could throw at them for now. The wall did worry her after all, since this was the big unknown in the whole affair, the pink-haired girl furrowing her brow slightly as she lined up her shot…the GUI coming alive as the line for ranged attack engaged…one of her crystal-blue eyes shutting to activate the menu… The punk-rocker’s pale wrist flicked to the side suddenly, the blade flying out like a bolt of lightning…a visible sign that could be equated to casting the dice for the party in what was the largest gamble that at least she had made so far. The blade sailed straight as an arrow before crossing into the red trap area almost the second it released (visible to Janeiro) with a bright light flashing from the zone as the consequence activated. One could hardly blink as the wall slid downwards almost immediately, prompting the release of nearly a dozen hardened steel lances passing right in front of the chest, forcing the normally confident Relsialle to gulp at the danger that had missed them. “Wow…now that’s just not playing fair…” Relsialle said in awe, her eyes wide as the sheer power of the trap that was set to catch an unsuspecting player, capable of turning any careless soul into a kabob quite easily. The spears had imbedded in the other side of the wall…the hardened steel points released from their hidden mechanism with such force that they were now buried in the opposite stone several inches…the deadly weapons now rendered harmless by planning and the quick gamble…The musician released her breath as she turned to the pair, the surprise still showing quite evidently on her sharpened features. A high pitched alarm began to sound almost immediately afterwards, supplied by a small bell from the recessed area in the trick-wall…it seemed that they were not out of the woods just yet…the complex trap still having not run its course completely yet. A stunning series of loud roars were now heard sounding from the nearby exit, heavy footsteps quickly coming their way closer to the hole that Rue was so diligently guarding only moments before, the kobolds clearly coming soon to collect whatever prey that their trap had supplied for them…or in this case…not supplied for them, and they would soon see what was responsible for all of the fun that they had encountered thus far… (Note: Janeiro would see that there is still the second trap left right on the other side of the hole/exit where the monster’s roar are coming from…one can easily assume that they are headed right for it.) |
