When faced with tough adversaries one may need to bust out the cheat codes. Too hard to take down that giant wolf at level 1? Maybe you could turn the battle in your favor with a unique ability to your character that would do more damage than a normal attack.
Players are allowed to have 1 custom sword art a level 1. This is a skill that you can use that will have a cool down depending on the effect. This means you cant continuously use it; however there is times where it would come in handy in a pinch. You gain a sword art point every 4 levels. You can use that point to gain a new sword art which would have a separate cool down from the first and can do something totally different such as one for damage and one to stun enemies. That point could also be used to "evolve" a sword art. Sword arts will level up progressively by using them and gain slight benefits from these level ups however evolving it is a large advancement on the skills ability. Sword arts can do anything you'd image them to do, from firing a projectile to making a barrier to a simple damage buff. Anything you can image, heres the point of creativity. If you create 'drawbacks' to your sword art it will advance how powerful it can be as well.
When creating a sword art explain the effect you want to occur and determine if you want it to be a longer or shorter cool down for a more powerful or less powerful effect. You can play with the admins and ask them to make something a bit stronger for a longer cool down or vice versa until it is how you like it.
You will also acquire active skills. These will be placed with your sword arts. They can be gain from certain talents, equips, and event rewards. They are skills that are not gain or evolved with sword art points and may have their own special way of leveling them up, if they can at all. A weapon skill for example, may not go up at all. The healing skills from battle recovery may require a certain level in battle recovery be achieved as well as a certain quantity of uses of the skill.
