[attr="class","official-title"]SWORD ART ONLINE - PATCH 1.2.6
[attr="class","official-header"]Playing catch-up and adding friends!
[attr="class","official-content"]
-Hope you're all excited for an array of various non-sense as usual because thats what's packed in this one. Especially cool news for the newbies![break][break]
-Doesn't it suck that you're level 1, and a lot of people are already level 4-6? Won't really have time to catch up before the next dungeon right? As of today we'll be incorporating a system to help people who are behind catch up to the progress of other players. Now- all you upper level players probably are like-
"Well... what did I work so hard for then? This is dumb" fret not, the bonus will help them in some aspects of the game but others- well the newbies will still be lacking. Also- Were here to RP so having people catch up allows for more of that with more people, which is more fun then stats anyway! Without further adieu here is how the system will work: [break][break]
As more floors become unlocked, as level will be set as the 'soft cap' this cap is determined entirely by what floor is the 'highest' floor players have reached. The soft cap will not inhibit players from progressing past that point, but will aid players who are behind that point. Further more- each soft cap will stack over one another making people who are super far behind easier to get back into the swing of things. So an example, or not really an example as this is legitimately how this will run: After the second floor was unlocked being under level 3 was a disadvantage. From this point forward, catching up to level 3 will be a breeze- seeing as anyone level 1 or 2 will receive a bonus 50% exp on ALL of their endeavors. This includes Combat threads, socials, and solos. The only thing excluded from this is events. This 'bonus' exp will be applied AFTER all other parts of review, that way it stacks on top of any other means of gaining exp you currently have. This will also only apply to participants who are behind. IF a level 5 and level 1 thread together, only the level 1 will receive this bonus. Furthermore- this will happen EVERY floor, and will STACK. So now- once Floor 2 has been cleared and floor 3 is open to the public, anyone who is below level 5 will receive +50% XP, and anyone below 3 will get both stacked up to 100% bonus until they hit 3 in which it drops to 50% until 5. This is to allow players to more easily access the floor we are on, but not put them ahead of those who worked hard to be there. Also note- THIS IS ONLY EXP. You will not receive any additional loot, col, talents, or SA points, so your character will essentially be 'behind' until you work for it, though they wont be too far behind to be a part of threads. Hope everyone enjoys these changes, this system will also be reiterated in a small thread being added to the information thread. This is live now, happy hunting!
-Taming--- *whistle whistle* yeah, since our birth we haven't had a single damn one of those. We realize that its a bit of a beaten up mechanic as no on really knows how it works too well because no one has ever really used the talent to be an example. I think a chunk of this comes from... "My first pet HAS to be a boar? Who wants a boar???" And- I understand these concerns. Going forward, momentarily I will be adding new 'pet specific' creatures to the taming portion of information. This will add special creatures that you cant go around killing, but will be available to tame with a taming thread if you so choose. These will include more domestic and friendly animals then our current tameables (Boar, Wolf, Spider). However, these new creatures you can tame will be weaker then those of the floor. These are domestic beasts, not war beasts. They will level up just as any other pet does, however, it will start with lower stats then those that can be caught in the wild. A level 3 boar will likely beat a level 4-5 dog. It will take more work, but- sometimes the work is worth it to a have a fluffy furry friend that doesn't have fangs or tusks as big as your head. [break][break]
-This one is probably the biggest 'update' since we've reopened, and one that we probably should have instituted long ago. Hope everyone enjoys, and give me a few moments to update those information threads mentioned above!
