"Never Falter Never Look Back!"
| Rue sat at her desk in the middle of the night. She had dedicated a day to writing a manual and great sword handling for Tesh. Not being able to be the best representation for two hand weapon training since she was unable to handle them in game. She made the best of the situation and put the screenshots in as just extra reference, with the explanation. To Tesh Now that you are part of the guild i've wrote this guide on swordsmanship with two handed weapons. Study this, and prepare yourself for the training you will be receiving. If you are reading this right now it means you have been accepted into the guild, and are required to meet at the outside of the town of beginnings at the following day after receiving this letter. Council Member Rue Below the message would be a file that said training manual. Opening the file, would open another window with pictures of Rue doing the motions with text writing over it.. Holding A Great Sword The picture would be of Rue holding her longsword with her dominant hand on the top of the hilt touching the guard, and her offhand on the end of the hilt. " Having your hand at the top of the blade allows for more control of your weapon. Your dominant hand acts as the swords guide, while you off hand acts as your support and balance". A picture with Rue standing with her knees bent and spread to the part. Her sword is pointed upward and facing. Keeping anything that she may come across back with her sword inbetween her as a protective tool with just a simple stance. "This is a neutral stance and know this stance you can go into any attack or defensive actions". Defense Upper Vertical Block More pictures showing her moving the blade. Raising her sword horizontally above and in front of the her head. Right Upper Body Blocks Another showing her moving her right foot back and her left foot forward Rue raises her sword to her right shoulder with the sword tip up. A picture next to the other show the same block, but with the opposite sides. Lower Mid Section & Leg Blocks The picture shows Rue pointing her blade down on an angle so the blade does not hit the ground a with her right foot forward and left foot back, and mirroring the movements she shows the opposite side of the block. Parries Rue flicks her sword to one side or the other. it sees as if she using the inner blade and the guard to trap and push away. " While you can use any part of the great sword on smaller weapons. The sheer weight of the weapon would be enough to deflect the attack. Try and hit the tip of end of their weapon as it will greatly increase the amount of force they would have to produce to stop the blade". Attacks Your greats swords are heavy and have long reach, use that as an advantage. On the other side they are slow, and are not useful when fighting in close combat, and swinging a heavier weapon tires you faster than a lighter one. The pictures show Rue swinging her sword downwards and on angles, but the sword always arcs downward. " Try to use moves where you can take advantage of gravity to make your attacks more powerful and faster". The next picture show her turning her sword around or lifting the sword up with her off hand closers to the hilt. Thrusting or swinging the hilt. Rue uses the sword's hilt as a close range weapon. "Use your hilt, kicks, punches or headbut to attack if you are in close range, and can not back away from the enemy". Moves That Will Get You Killed There are various pictures of Rue doing moves that she would otherwise refrain from doing. They show her spinning with the sword, jumping and causing yourself to be unable to move or dodge until you land. Dragging you blade against the ground, it ruins the edge and weakens your attack, also it makes your attacks obvious. Overswinging you're not using a club, your sword is meant to cut not crush your target.. Telegraphing your attack, Rue does a bunch of silly poses and "Secret Special Attacks". The list goes on for a bt more until it ends. |
