[CLOSED] Switching Into the Depths

[Angelo]

	Friend's list: Inugami, Kitferge Testing out the new template, seeing how it goes, how to position stuff, etc. Looks rather interesting soo far.

As he began his short fight with the trooper with the sword, Kitferge began attacking the other sword user. By the time his sword art finished, his ally had began engaging and dispatching the other kobold. However, the last remaining kobold that used the short dagger had unknowingly crept up behind Kitferge. Before Angelo was able to follow up with an attack of his own, Rue had tackled the kobold scout and finished it with a decapitated head.

He knelt beside her, the shock of the explosion still affecting her body. Angelo nodded and verbally confirmed the order. He stood back up and looked at the exit location. The redness of the traps on the floor from earlier was gone. Three kobold scouts were also gone. Albeit the ringing in his ears still affecting him, the older teenager looked up and squinted in the darkness. There seemed to be nothing ahead to block them from passing through.

However, when he turned around, he thought he saw slight movement in the darkness of the hallway behind them. Closer inspection with the aid of his detection talent revealed that three Kobold Troopers were getting into position to attack the weakened group.

"Time for a tactical retreat.. NOW!"

Sheathing his sword, he ran to Rue's location and hefted her up into his arms before running towards the exit. Already, one could see the three kobolds, their eyes red with bloodlust as they ran towards them. They would make it out of the dungeon time.

Once his heartbeat slowed down to a relatively normal pace, he slowly let Rue stand on her own feet before sitting down himself, staring back at the entrance of the dungeon.

Kitferge jerked forward, feeling the cool sweep of air pass over his neck, making him tense. It turned out to be Rue, but her fighting was rougher, more graceless. She obviously hadn't completely recovered. His fingers closed around his dagger, and he watched he white-haired girl pin it down and destroy it in one movement. Highly effective...but sloppy. She would need a little more time to recover, no? And if she turned out to know too much...well. He pushed his hair back, hurrying towards the others. While Angelo checked the area cautiously, Kitferge kept a wary eye around their immediate area. When Angelo called for a tactical retreat, sweeping Rue into his arms, Kitferge was in no place to disagree, settling for a harried sound of agreement. One Kobold came too close for comfort, their red eyes flashing, and the blonde merely pressed harder on, rounding a corner. The sound of their footsteps echoed in his ears, and he could hardly ignore the adrenaline that pulsed through his veins, urging him to go faster, and he obliged, sending a single concerned glance over the two white-haired players before ducking out of the dungeon exit with the others. When they calmed, Kitferge leaned on a wall heavily, ignoring the beads of sweat that formed on his forehead, brushing back his hair in a careless move. That was certainly educational, he thought dryly, before sheathing his dagger with a satisfying click noise, keeping his calm. His emotionless gaze swept over the others, taking in Rue and Angelo. The latter seemed to be staring back at the entrance, but Kitferge merely shook it off, pulling his hair to one side of his neck. What was with these two players? Rue, of course, was incredibly controlled, and so she would not let herself show any emotion during a battle like such. But Angelo...was the boy simply too kind to feel bloodlust? How utterly boring. These people didn't interest him at all. In one word, they were utterly useless. His face remained blank enough, Kitferge seemingly still catching his breath, his heartbeat slowing. When he straightened up again, letting out a long sigh that seemed to calm himself down, the blonde's lips twisted into a wry smile. These people were uninteresting and he disliked them, but that didn't mean he was going to drive them off. Gods, no. Why would he? Just because his interest in battle with other players turned into a waste of time because these players were too kind or too cold to show true emotion during a fight? His blue eyes closed briefly, still dazed from all that activity inside of the dungeon before settling on his party members. "Are you both alright?" He refrained from mentioning anything else, tone relatively open.

Rue put her head back down as she gave orders and checked on her team , it still rung and trobed. The explosion did not reach her but she was close enough to get the full force of the shockwave and still need time to recover. The floor was cold and felt nice on the small girl's throbbing head. Rue heard some yelling, and looked up to see what the commotion was. Before she had time to look around she felt something lift her up and carry her. Getting rattled up and down she looked at who was carrying her. Glaring at the white haired man that picked her up without her approval she would speak in a irritated voice. " What are you doing? Did i say pick me up"? Angelo did not seem to be paying attention to Rue's words. She could hear the hisses and yells of rage filled kobolds, as she rattled in Angelo's arms as he sprinted away. Giving up on getting a response on the adrenaline fueled Angelo she would look ahead to see Kitferge Sprinting ahead. making it out of the dungeon the kobolds would stop at the entrance and back away from the light. Rue would see Kiterge leaning on a wall supporting himself, beads of sweat dropped off of his head. He would collect himself as he turned his blank stare at Rue and Angelo who was still holding her. He seemed to be thinking about Rue and Angelo, Rue looked back at him with a equally mute glance. Still feeling Angelo's hands holding her legs and back, she looked up at him with her amber eyes drilling into his. " You can put me down now". Her voice was a calm rage as she spoke to the man who touched her without her approval. Angelo moved to put Rue down slowly as she pushed of him, and straightened her armor giving him a death glance as he went to sit down. Kitferge's question broke up Rue's blank but deadly glare at Angelo. Looking at Kiterge she give him a more kinder look. He was the most injury member and the running tired him out quite a bit. Responding with a polite tone Rue answered," Yes back to one hundred percent and unharmed thanks to some unwanted protection". Putting her attention between the two players she would plan their next course of action. She spoke in a calm voice as the two caught their breath. " It might not have been the safest trip in the dungeon, but we got out alive and mostly unharmed we completed what we set out to do. That was rather tame compared to deeper parts of the dungeon, traps get more intricate and you can be trapped forever if you don't have a portstone. You two rest up a bit then will head to Tolbana. The first time through the dungeon can be harrowing and a player taught me the value of relaxing after a hard day. Since you helped me when i was unable to fight properly it will be my treat as thanks for saving me". Rue would let them rest as she would stretch her legs and check her equipment.

She did not seem happy at all that she was manhandled and saved from the oncoming troopers. He would sulk when Rue gave Angelo a rather negative staredown.

He didn't think he deserved such glares as he sat down on the earthy terrain. The grass and dirt was the only thing soothing his weary soul from today's events. Angelo simply stared at the emptiness that was the dungeon's entrance in the distance, not wanting to look at the other two party members.

Angelo honestly felt that what he did was the best course of action to take, given the circumstances. Three troopers were already running towards them. Kit was injured but could still move freely. Rue on the other hand was still lying down on the ground. At that time, it didn't seem like she could move on her own, hence why the white-haired boy picked her up and carried her to the exit. Amidst the chaos that ensued, he couldn't hear what Rue was saying to him, the adrenaline pumping through his veins pushing him towards the exit.

Why did she treat him so? The teenager looked up into the sky, the sun already setting down near the horizon. It was getting late.

After the speech ended, Angelo stood up and began walking back towards town.

	You probably could have gone out of the dungeon on your own, but Angelo did not want to take that chance. Rue still looked like she wasn't ready to move yet.

Kitferge nodded to Rue's words and merely stood for a minute, cool wind refreshing against his heated skin. Why was it so hot, again? He wiped off beads of sweat on his forehead, cringing, and then carded a hand through his hair, his braid now loose. Sighing in annoyance, the teen undid his hair and redid his braids, keeping it secure, and then hid it amongst his hair. Why was this such a taxing ordeal? He mused, waiting for himself to catch his breath. The blond's hands curled around the plates of his armor, and then one released the material abruptly, letting the weight settle back onto his delicate frame. They would have to leave soon, anyways. Kitferge wasn't fond of traveling during nighttime. His mind stopped humming, blissfully blank for a minute, until realization fell on him, crushing him with the weight of his knowledge, and his hand covered his mouth, but he was turned away, so Rue and Angelo wouldn't notice. They. A tiny wave of nausea rushed over him. He had included himself thoughtlessly in a group, as if he and the others were more than just acquaintances. How many times had that happened already? He bit his lip harshly. He couldn't be so careless to think that he had friends, after Kathleen. Kitferge knew what friends meant. Vulnerability. And he couldn't afford to be vulnerable at all. He smoothed his emotions back, keeping his earlier expression, and straightened up, then stretched, his limbs cracking, which made him wince. "I've...recovered enough?" He broke off when he noticed Angelo begin to leave without everyone else, but shook it off easily enough, sending a slight look of repressed confusion at Angelo's back for Rue to see while sighing in relief inwardly. If they were gone, he couldn't grow closer, which had to be a good thing.

Angelo seemed to be lost in his own little world as he began walking without anyone else. Rue raised her voice as to get his attention, " Angelo where are you going? Stop day dreaming and wait for your teammates, wandering in the dark with your head in the clouds is going to get you killed". Honestly what was wrong with him, he's like a child constantly have to keep watch of him to make sure he does not hurt himself. Rue looked at Kitferge as he turned away, he seemed to be in discomfort his health bar showed no sighs of status aliments and the damage he took was not substantial. He would turn back to Rue bring himself back to his normal look as he stretched his limbs loud cracking sound echoed through the empty dirt road. The small blond boy said that he recovered enough, that made Rue's eyes narrow at his words. " We are not in any rush the roads are safe even at night, a few monsters roam on the roads, but nothing a group of three would have issues with. Rest for a little while longer, it's dangerous to not be completely ready for anything just in case". Rue words were calm, but had force behind them. Looking away for Kitferge she would turn her attention back to Angelo, " were not leaving yet Kitferge's still not ready, while were waiting I have a few questions regarding are search for your sister". Rue waited for Angelo to come closer so she did not have to almost yell to speak with him. " I have heard of a few people that had pink hair, but none of them went by her name. She must be using a user name, can you tell me her likes and dislikes, also her hobbies and style of clothing she prefers? Everything you can think of might be used to track her down, or even figure out what kind of a name she might use".

Walking away in a slight daze, he kept walking back towards the closest town, in this case being Tolbana. He didn't really hear.. or rather, listen, to what the female tank said to him. Did Angelo simply want acknowledgement for what he did? A simple thank you would probably have worked, but because she didn't, he became rather childish and stormed off on his own. It was this stubbornness that led the white-haired teenager to continue walking away from the group, not willing to listen to anything she said.

Angelo was more than capable of handling the monsters in the plains on route to Tolbana, but he paused when he heard something about his sister. He turned around and looked directly into Rue's eyes. If she had information regarding his sister, why didn't she speak up earlier? Before the entire dungeon? Why wait until now? He tried to discern what was going through her mind before giving up, simply because he had no idea.

The boy would mention that his sister did not have pink hair, and never mentioned such a color when talking about Haruka. Regardless, he would give mostly all the information he knew about his sister's real life appearance and personality. The boy took about fifteen minutes of their time explaining to Rue and Kitferge about Haruka and fell silent once more, still quite a bit of distance from them.

Kitferge sighed. That was something to be debated about. Personally, the blonde thought that venturing out in the dark on the monster-infested roads was not a good thing, seeing as he didn't think the others were players with night-vision as a talent. Running a hand through his hair, he almost missed Rue asking about Angelo's sister, which was not something he wanted to miss. His eyes narrowed in interest, the edges of his pupils sharpening, cat-like. A sister? So, Rue was looking for her? He listened absently, taking in all the information politely (and since when did he care about being polite? This was new.), but his thoughts were somewhere else. A sister, hmm? He tilted his head curiously, viewing Angelo. He was so ordinary, he was a complete mystery to Kitferge. The blonde blinked blankly. So. He had lost his sister? Tch. If he lost someone that important to him, why did they even trust him at all? Connections were a sore spot for the blonde of sorts-the people he cared about (in the past tense) were either dead or on a whole different plane of existence. And to have a real sibling and loose them? His opinion of Angelo was already pretty low, but now, he absolutely despised the other. As a person, that was. But as a specimen? Kitferge leaned back on his arms, supporting his head as he told Rue politely that he had completely recovered now and they could begin to leave. A small, wolfish grin grew on his face, nearly unnoticeable. As a specimen, Angelo was absolutely fascinating.

Other then her appearance that Rue already knew she listened as the boy would talk about her likes, dislikes and hobbies. Rue thought about her new found knowledge. His sister liked martial arts, mocha and sleeping. Not really anything they could do with that information, but be on the look at every place that serves mocha and inns. As for the martial arts that they were thought, Rue was in the dark on what Ryuuha Koei Sougetsu was. Rue had a decent amount of knowledge on Japanese martial since her grandfather thought her about the sword. Rue looked at the white haired boy with confusion. " I have never heard of that martial art before. Has it been used in anything that make give a hint at a name that she would use? Currently at the moment I can't really pin point a name that she might use". Not wanting to say the names that she had on her mind do to the stupidly of them. Kitferge looked to Rue and said that he was ready to move. Nodding to Kitferge she would begin to walk down the dirt path to the town. Rue looked around the lightly forested path as the walked. The road was uneven, with some parts being low and others high. Made the walk not very enjoyable. The sounds of wildlife could be heard from inside the forest as the more nocturnal animals came out with the setting of the sun. Still not having conclusive information that could lead to finding his sister Rue decided to try a different source for information. " Angelo tell me about yourself, maybe she might of named herself after something you liked. Also does she have any friends that you know the player names of that she plays with"? Rue would try and look for any and every possible amount of information that might lead her to his sister.

The boy, after finishing his rather long background history of Haruka, sat down on the grass, a bit of tears welling up on his face. Angelo quickly wiped them away with the back of his hand, but as they continued pouring out, he turned away from the party and looked out at the darkening plains. Nature sounds echoed in the night, giving a rather unsettling presence because of the lack of clear vision. Once his tears subsided, the white-haired teen looked back at Kitferge, who seemed to be looking at Angelo. They stared into each other's eyes, both trying to figure out what was going on in the head of the other.

He looked back at Rue when she asked about more details regarding his family's martial arts. Angelo went on to explain that it wasn't well known in the present life, but it was a deadly art that was used to fight monsters and humans alike. The technique sometimes incorporates animals into the name and usually has several strikes rather than one single attack. Examples given were tiger, dragon, crane, demon, etc.

Rue had begun walking past Angelo once Kit said that he was ready to go. He begrudgingly stood back up and kept himself between the two other players. Because of this, he couldn't see Kit's animal-like smile. He replied that she would probably not name herself after anything related to him as they weren't really on super friendly terms after the separation with his father. He also mentioned that he had no idea whatsoever what her name was because he was going to surprise her by finding her in the Town of Beginnings. Much luck he had after the incident.

On their trek to Tolbana, Kitferge kept his thoughts to himself. He knew his thoughts constantly shifted and wavered depending on which emotion he was currently experiencing, so instead, he kept them locked away, swirling inside of him on a wavering scale on intensity. He severely disliked Angelo-what type of fool lost their own sister? The very thought made him scoff, overcome with his own contempt for the other player. He may have been orange and Angelo may have been green, but their roles should have been reversed. A younger sister? Hmpf. He might as well left her to die. How pathetic. And instead of looking for her, he was going on to get stronger, probably for some ridiculous notion that he could protect his sister. How can you protect your sister from others when you can’t even protect her from yourself? He asked scornfully, contempt coloring his thoughts. You utter fool. You might as well have signed her death warrant. And you and others can argue that it isn’t your fault all you want. It doesn’t change my opinion at all. If I did something like that to someone I cared…I wouldn’t have called myself a person after that. You’re possibly the biggest imbecile I’ve ever encountered. His thoughts were filled with malice, but Kitferge kept quiet as Angelo talked-and he couldn’t help but add sarcastic, biting remarks in his head-and listened to Rue and Angelo both, adding in his thoughts when it was necessary. He noticed that they were on the outskirts of Tolbana now, the sky relatively dark as they talked and Kitferge took a moment to admire the cool breeze and the starry night sky, full of constellations, he was sure, but none of which he knew. There was no lingering familiarity inside of this-it was a cold and cruel reminder that their world was not the same as the game, no matter how many people believed otherwise. "We're here," He mentioned, facing the others. Where were they supposed to be headed, again?

Listening to Angelo's words. It made his family sound like shaolin monks mixed with Shinto priests. Rue still looked at him with disbelief as she wanted to jokingly say how she was taught hiten mitsurugi ryu swordsmanship. Almost as nonsensical as what he was saying. However listening intently and taking his words as truth, it would be rude to treat his words like a joke as she was the one who asked. Rue's second question seemed to hit a touchy subject. The information that she gained for her question, left her no more closer to finding his sister than before. This talk of family issues might of disheartened the boy. Rue patted him on the back and spoke calmly. " You may not of been close, but your do your best to find her. Your family and you love, and I bet she cares about you just as much". Rue was never on for consoling people, but she did not want him to lose hope. As they continued walking Rue checked on the ever quite Kitferge. He seemed to be deep in thought about something. He made small glances at Angelo, but the look in his eye was that of disgust. The boy reminded her a little of who she acted towards people, thinking that the weak were useless and worthless. All that earns you is solitude . As Rue looked to the boy they arrived at the edge of town. Kitferge broke her thought process and stated that they were here, and then ask their reasoning for coming her. Smiling at the two and speaking more softly. " I said I would treat you two ad it's good to relax after intense adventures. I don't know what you two like so lead on". Rue waited for the boys to pick their poison.

Angelo completely forgot the reason why they came here. All this talk about his sister made him remember what he was neglecting to do. Even though he spent at most half of his day scouring towns in search for Haruka, Angelo had no luck whatsoever. The other half of his days were spent training and leveling up, like the events that transpired just now. Maybe he wasn't spending enough time looking for her. He did vary his times when he searched for her so there wasn't any reason not for him to find her by now.

Haruka may already be.. No, he shouldn't be thinking that way. He just needed to search harder for her. Angelo denied Rue's offer, telling the temporary party that he needed to search for her, even if it was this late. He went to his menu and went to his party sub-group. He tapped the button, leaving the group. The two names Kitferge and Rue had disappeared from view on the top left corner of his vision. He turned away from the two and Angelo disappeared in the night.

Kitferge narrowed his eyes at Angelo when he excused himself, and talked to Rue quietly, his thoughts racing across his mind. "Excuse me, Rue. I also have business to tend to in Tolbana, so I should be leaving as well. My apologies for not informing you sooner." His tone was polite, and held a note of genuine respect. He may not have liked Angelo at all, but he rather liked Rue as much as he personally could, seeing as how she was a good fighter. Even if she was cold. But he could deal with that. After all, he was rather frigid himself, wasn't he? He gave her a slight half-bow in respect, and then ran a hand through his messy blond hair, murmured a quick goodbye, and then set on his way, mind racing. Khuda hafiz, he had told her lightly, the words so natural on his tongue that he didn't think of it at all. Bile rose up in his throat. May God be your Guardian. That was what the goodbye phrase meant. He hadn't spoken Arabic in a long time. Not since Kathleen died. It didn't feel right or natural. His shoes hit the smooth cobblestone streets. His mind raced. So what did that mean? To talk so lightly...could this girl be breaking down his barriers so effortlessly? His teeth clenched at the thought. No. It couldn't be...could it? He merely respected her, that was all. And Angelo. His eyes shone with pure loathing. What an utterly despicable human being. Without Rue, Kitferge would have gladly sacrificed the boy to the waiting Kobolds. What type of boy was like that, anyways? Honestly. The blonde itched to kill him, to suffocate him and watch as his throat closed up, and then suddenly released him in an act of "mercy", the white-haired teen unable to suck in enough air, and so Kitferge would then stab him, and- It was final, anyways. The next time that they met, if they were alone, Kitferge would try to guide his dagger in order to let the weapon find it's mark. There was no need to worry, he reassured himself lightly, hoping that his words were true. It was all just a passing fancy. Nothing he could do about it, anyways. He hummed in blatant displeasure. Of course. And if something felt off...well, it was just his imagination, right? He scowled darkly. He stepped into the darker, shadier parts of town, his face perfectly blank. Kitferge sent a light glance to the sky before disappearing as soon as he could, eager to get out of this place. After all...there was nothing else left in that excursion. Utterly unhelpful, that was. He sighed, and then paused to stab the nearest wall with his dagger out of pure frustration. That experience had been utterly useless, hadn't it?

Heading into town, Rue looks to Angelo who seems disheartened. Maybe it was all of Rue's questioning that brought back bad memories for the white haired boy. The boy turned to her and declined her offer, as he said that he should continue his search for his sister. Rue nodded in acknowledgement at Angelo, his sister was always his top concern. " Alright, try to take care for yourself as well. You can't find her if you are unwell". Kitferge spoke quietly to Rue as he politely excused himself from the small girl's offer as well. He was very polite as he spoke lowly to Rue. With a small bow he excused himself. Rue bowing slightly back as a reflex almost to his mannerism. The boy brushed his hair back and murmured a parting phase that Rue had seen before in one of her books on cultures of the world. Deciding not to try her hand at butchering Arabic she parted with him a simple well wishing. The day had turned to night, and her traveling companions have excused themselves from her invitation to dinner. Rue sighed as she went to the inn alone to eat and turn in for the day. Getting a early night rest, will allow her to start early tomorrow giving her more time in the day for quests and gaining exp.
