Sitting cross legged on the green grass (manners be damned, she wore stockings so it was fine) and her two hand great sword stabbed on the ground beside her, one hand raised up to support the right side of her face, she glanced at her surroundings lazily while picking at the grass in front of her in boredom.
Glancing around and was being somewhat alert to the surroundings, most of the monsters that appears in the great plains, with the exception of wolves, will not attack players with level of level 2 or higher so even though she was just sitting here in the middle of field without any covers, she is still safe. Starlight no longer has her full health, but her health was still green at the moment, but taking on a group of boars, even though she only killed three, still took a lot of energy out of her low endurance stats, she sits there outside of combat to rest for a bit, recovering her energy and her health bar.
One eye open and another closed a bit in her resting, she lazily activated her <<detection skill>> and scan around the surrounding for easy targets to pick up, the quest objective is still ongoing and they would need a lot more kills to complete the quest. She has no intention to stay in the plains over night or drags this simple hunting quest over to the next day, which is a serious possibility if they don't rank up the kill count soon.
If I recalled correctly...we need a lot more little neps and some more boars, I previously send a message to Angelo asking him to take out 2 or 3, so if I were to hunt down another 2, we will be for sure, fulfilled the required kill count for boars.
But then we would need to find a whole bunch of little neps...that is bad, since they are kind of hard to find and scatter far in between here in the great plains, it would take a lot of time to get to 10. But at this point, I don't really want to headed towards the black forest just for them, we have already spend so many hours here, I don't want to submit a quest late. And besides, even with two higher level players watching over them, are the newbies ready for the black forest yet? Not sure, it might be dangerous, if it comes to that, we might have to split up the group into two just for the little neps of all things.
...Tsk.
This is so annoying. This whole situation and the whole little nep monster species annoys me just by existing.
Just then, her detection skill picks up on something, a pair of boars have wandered out from the group and is now relatively alone, if they continues to walk towards this direction, soon, even if she were to attack them, they would be outside of the range of the rest of the group's aggro.
Eyeing the pair of boars silently, still siting down, Starlight grabs her two hand great sword with one hand and let it disappeared into her inventory. She stood up from her sitting position and allows her copper long sword to fall from her inventory to the ground, she grabs that instead and walks around, using the occasional trees as cover, she circles around to the back of the pair of the group.
Her sword art has just finished its cool down, she grabs her long sword and performed her little swipe against the sword guard, with a flash of dark red light she activated her sword art air strike once again. Walking side ways as she silently close in on the pair of boars, once of the boars' ears actually pick up a bit and moved around a little, signalling that it had heard something approaching.
Starlight frowns, not having actual stealth skills meaning that her sneaking up on monsters would failed more often than not, and that this is as far as she can sneak up on them, she must seize this chance now that they still haven't pick up on her exact location yet, which they will very soon. Starlight chased forward, out from her covered location behind the trees, long sword outreached aiming towards one of the boars on the left. The boar and the left immediately picked up on the sudden ambushed, it turns around zoning in on her location immediately, but before it can react and dodge, Starlight's air strike reaches it and landing two hits with her sword art consecutively, being so much higher level them the boar and equipped with copper weapon, combining with her own high attack almost ensured emptying the monster's health bar upon impact of her sword art. But just to be on the safe side, she slide in and swipe her long sword across the first boar just to be sure. The first boar goes up disappearing into a shower of pixels.
Turning around just in time, she jumps back dodging the attack of the second boar, with long sword in hand, she close in pursue, chasing the second boar from behind it. With a quick downward slash, she landed her first attack. The second boars let out an angered rawr and turns around facing her, about to do its counter attack against her. Without the martial art skill, she couldn't actually do any damage to the boar without a weapon, but it did not stop her from hitting the boar with a quick upward slash, and followed up with a kick to the side, kicking the boar off balanced. When the boar was off of its feet with the body slight above the ground, Starlight follows up with a third and final slash, cutting horizontally across the boar, emptying its health bar. The second boar goes up in pixel just as something started to beep.
That was easy...wait....
Starlight turns around, looking for the sound of the beeping noise, before realizing that it came from her own HUD, still not used to this thing, it took her a bit of time to actually pull out of the notification manual. Under the team stats section, it shows that two of her teammate's health have now dropped to red.
.....
WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENUNG?!
Turning around to the location where she last saw here team, there up on the hill, the two newbies appeared to be surrounded by a bunch of little neps.
Oh You got to be kidding me...! I took my eyes off them for a few minutes at best...!!
Without a moment to wonder about where did that many little neps came from, she haven't detect them before, and how on earth did the two newbies found themselves in that kind of situation, Starlight rushes towards that location, however, she was in some distance and it will take her some time to actually get there. But the newbies is not in any position to wait, being surrounded by monsters and being on low health, they were in some serious trouble.
I'm not going to be able to reach them in time!!
Internally, Starlight came to the conclusion with a startle.
Do I still have more port stones..?! Can port stones even be used in this kind of situation?! Gosh, why didn't I give some to them before?!
Still closing in on the two newbies, she saw something up in the distance, and her heartbeat actually skipped a beat, when she saw that she thought that it might have been yet another monster. But her detection scan came back to her, showing the newcomer is actually her teammate Angelo, who rushes in into the battle field and put himself between the monsters and the newbies. He started to take on the little neps by himself, sheltering the two newbies behind him, fighting and cutting away at the little neps with his curve blade.
What is Angelo's level right now? Starlight asked herself with a cold sweat.
Still, it seems like her worries were unfounded, as Angelo seems to be more than enough to handle the little neps and take them out.
At this time, Starlight has reaches to the battle ground, not stopping from her charge, she brings down her long sword in a harsh diagonal swipe, cutting hardly into the nearest little neps. One leg dragging across the ground with her combat boots she managed to stopped herself from the middle of her charge and adjusted her stand, without any breaks in between the attack, she brings her long sword up in a closely followed upward swipe and that emptied the little neps health bar. Now standing behind Angelo she turns around, getting ready to take on the next nearest target, when she realized with a startle that all of the other little neps' arms have been cut off. They can still bump around and retreat this way, but that was it for them, there was no way for them to attack anyone now, except for maybe, knocking into someone.
With the immediate threat eliminated, Starlight turns around facing the two newbies with a snarled. "IDIOTS!! What the hell are the two of you thinking...?!!" But she managed to stopped herself mid sentence and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself down, counts to three. Telling herself that, Starlight...you have no right to yell at people, and besides, remember that it was NOT their fault, it was not their fault.
It was the little neps fault, there were simply too many of them, that's was almost like getting attracted by the fruit bearer, getting surrounded by that kind of number will almost guarantee death to any nearby new players.
Calming down now, she opened her eyes. "My apologies, I acted out of line...still, how did the two of you even managed to aggro so many little neps anyway? " She holds up a hand. "Doesn't matter, the two of you need to step back and outside the aggro, take a moment for your health to regenerate, chat a little, do whatever, I don't care, just don't engage in combat right now." She glance around, Angelo is blocking the little neps escape route. "When you are ready, when your health goes back to yellow, try again at the little neps, now that they can no longer attack and is a perfect target. We still have some time left today, and this will likely be the last fight before we turn in the quest. So take your time, and take a shot at them when you are ready." With that, she goes over to the tree, intending to take a rest by the shadow of the tree, detection still activated on alert of any new monster encounter.
"Thanks, Ange, that was a well timed save. You may have just saved two lives today." When she walked passed Angelo, she patted Angelo on the shoulder and whisper quietly over her retreating back. "And I should have watch over them more carefully...ah...I'm such a screw up for that..." Shaking her head as she was walking away from Angelo, she comes to a stop beside the tall tree. Taking a seat and sitting down on the green grass with knees pull up against her body and arms relaxing on her kneecap, she takes a bit of rest.
