"Never Falter Never Look Back!"
 | Rue walk along the path of the Great Plains, The emerald hue of the grass radiates off the ground as the sun kisses the waving grass. The sounds of grunts and boar's squeals and snorts fill the plains as the uninitiated blood themselves. Recently more and more players are becoming combative, their shock of mortality has been overruled by their will to leave their virtual prison. As Rue walked and watched the new players, make the cut she stops and watches a young boy struggle with his first kill. He held his sword out in front on himself hunched over he breathed heavily as he stared his prey down. Charging at the boar he raised his sword above his head and yelled. The boar reared back and jumped into the boy's gut, sending him backward as he gasp for air. The boar charged to finish him off. Rue pushed off the ground with her feet and crashed into the boar with her shield! The boy dragged himself off of the floor and with a weak voice thanked Rue. " Don't thank me, I just gave you a second chance". Rue moved off to the side and waited for the two to continue their fight. The boy looked pale as he turned to the small pale girl. " Come on don't just stand their"! As the boy complained to Rue the boar shook off it's knock down and kicked dirt into the air with it's hooves. Rue looked over to the boar, " Get ready, here it comes". The boar squealed as it charged for the boy again. The boy got into his stance, he stretched his legs out to the side and held his sword out front with his arms fully extended causing his back to lean forward. Rue sighed at the boy horrible stance. As the boar tried to gore him, he jumped to the side and tried to slash at the boar, however his moments cost him a lot of time and by the time he went to swing the boar was already out of his range. Do to his arms being to far out the momentum caused him to be dragged with the blade, as he tried to pull his blade out of the ground the boar turned to finish the job. Rue's frowned at the out come and quickly drew her sword, as the boar almost finished the boy off, Rue step forward with her left foot and sliced through the boars head. As the boar's head flew off it's body it pixelated away. The boy's eyes widen at the girls simple but skilled movement. Rue sheathed her sword and continued to walk to town.As Rue walked to the town entrance boy ran in front of her. He was around six feet was tanned and had brown short hair, his eyes were green and he wore a red bandana around his head. He was fairly average had little to no muscle tone and was a little and had a round face with chubby cheeks. " I'm Jude by the way, thank you for saving me"! The boy was noisy. Rue walked past him and he chased after her continued to speak. " You know your really good with a sword are you like a ninja or secret spy for the government, that's here to recuse us". Rue's eyes narrowed and she rubbed her temple with her left hand. Walking through the cobble stone streets of the Town, she made her way to the general store. entering the store it was lined with selves carrying any basic item a budding adventurer would need. Rue walked up to the counter and spoke to the shop owner, " here are the skins you requested". The shop owner smiled. " My that was fast and more then I requested as well". The owner was about to give Rue the reward when the monkey on her back popped out of nowhere. " Wow looked at all of those skins, the must be almost a hundred"!. Looking to Rue with wide eyes and excitement in his voice," your a master hunter stalking the wilds for prey to sate your burning desire for a challenge"! Pushing him away with two fingers she took her reward from the owner. Turning to leave her expression sour as the boy kneed down with his hands on the floor with his head down. " Please teach me how to fight Shishō"! Rue walked by with as she left the store. The boy would continue to pester her as she handed in her quests, at the blacksmith. " Where did you find all that ore, you must be able to spit to mountains with your blade, your a god among players please teach me your ways Sensei"! At the apothecary, " The earth must bend to your will, your burning eyes see all your surroundings. You must teach me Kunshu"!Rue walked along the streets she has not seen that idiot in a bit. Looking around she see players gathered around each other and talking among themselves. Rue breathed in the fresh air relaxing for a brief moment tasting to warm air and the smells of the bakery that taunted her senses. " Aha you let you guard down Ippantekina, I will show you my resolve and then you will teach me"! The boy jumped at Rue bringing his blade down at the small girl. Players look in fear as the blade inched near the girl, Rue stepped to the right as the blade crashed into the ground a loud ring echoed through the streets. Rue grabbed the boy's wrist with her left, hand locking his movements into place. The boy struggled and pulled trying to get the girls hand off, " hey left go I will get you to teach me"! He looked up a Rue, her amber eyes burned into his vision. Swallowing deeply he dropped his sword and bowed his head. Rue stare at the boy, he was determined but Rue can tell that he would never become a great warrior. " Stop tying to get yourself killed". Rue grip tighten as the boy opened his eyes a pained expression showed in his face. " No I need to know how to fight, I just can't sit around and let other die, I'm not afraid"! Those word hit Rue deeply, I am not afraid she said those same word to herself back when she first started. Letting go of his wrist, she turned away from him. " You will not complain and will no question the training, if you agree to my terms meet me tomorrow at sun rise at the town entrance". The boy rubbed his wrist and listened to Rue. He jumped up and smiled," I will not let you down Sensei"! Rue softly smiled and turned around, " My name is Rue just call me Rue". With tomorrow already fully booked, seem pointless to accept quests for tomorrow. Walking to the inn, Rue paid for a room for the night. Entering her room she changes into her pajama's and places her sword next to her bed. Getting comfortable under the covers, Rue slowly drifts into a dream. As she was sleeping a feeling of dread came over her, snapping her eyes open she reaches for her sword. " looking for this"? A playful tone that, however was full of anything but good intentions bounced Rue's attention over to the chair in the corner of her room. There sat and man in a black suit with the coat open showing a white dress shirt under it with a red tie. He held Rue's sword turning it around with his hands, looking to his face she could she his nose and mouth that grinned playfully. He wore and black fedora that covered the other half of his face, he had purple with green highlighted hair that poked out of his hat and above it a red diamond. Rue glared at the man as she reached for the lamp on the end table, she whipped it at the man! " So feisty". The man dropped Rue sword on his lap and caught the lamp. " They said you were no nonsense and they were right, your so to the point". The man placed the lamp on the table, " I'm not here to hurt you or kidnap you quite the opposite in fact. I am here to offer you a place in are guild, you have many admirers in are little club". Rue looked at the man with Burning disgust, " I am not a murder". The man leaned back into his chair stifling a laugh, " No no of course your not. I do like how you did not deny being a killer though". Rue let out a tsk to the deviant, the man's grin grew." We have been scouting you ever since you little run in with a certain toad, that's my favorite moment for you. The twitching toad hung above you covering your ivory skin in sticky crimson, it was almost like a baptism for your birth into our world". Leaning over he looked at the small girl." Or your most popular moment, when you had the culprit on his knees begging you for mercy. The man who fed unsuspecting people to his pet what did you do"? Rue turned away in shame. " You promised that you would not kill him, but you knock him out and fed him to the wolfs. At least you kept your promise". The man cackled in twisted enjoyment. As he calmed down he wiped away bit of drool from his mouth from his deep enjoyment of Rue's method of judgement." Your just like us, you just refuse to accept it". Rue turned back to the man glaring at him with hatred. " I am nothing like you and your group, I refuse your offer now leave and never bother me again". The man grinned even wider, " That is disappointing, are leader is real fond of you, that's why I can't take no for an answer". The man pulled a red bandana out and shook it like keys on a chain. " It's a good thing I made sure to get some leverage before I came to the bargaining table". Rue jumped out of the bed and onto the man causing the chair to fall over and take them with it, Rue's knees were on his shoulder pinning him down. Grabbing his collar she stared at him with murderous intent. " What did you do, you tell me where he is right now". The man laughed with the same laugh as before, he enjoyed every moment of Rue's killers intent. " What are you going to do kill me"? As he continued to laugh he rolled his legs up causing Rue to fall over. Placing the bandana on her he stood by the window, " If you want to find your precious student, come to your meeting place tonight". As he said those words he leapt out of the window. Getting back to her feet Rue grab her sword and looked out the window. The man had vanished, even with her detection she could not see where he went. Rue yelled in frustration and worry, equipping her gear she hastily moved to her meeting point. The town was fairly quiet at night save a few yells from the local bar. The few lights that were still on dimly lit the cobblestone road as Rue marched towards the exit. Thinking about Jude and how if she did not stop to help him he would be safe in bed at this time. She tightly gripped the bandana around her hand. (Jude I will defiantly save you)! Reaching the exited she saw the man in black leaning on the wall. Seeing Rue he waved and grinned. Rue walked out to him and point her sword at his neck. " Where is he". The Man grinned, "where's who"?. Rue expression darken her teeth clenched, " Don't screw with me Jude you sick bastard". The tapped his head," Oh right the boy, I didn't need him so I kil..". As soon as Rue heard that word she stabbed forward. The dodged to the right and ran to the plains, " I didn't know you were such a soft touch Ruei-chan". The two players meet under the the moonlit plains, the dew from the grass reflected the moonlight and crickets play the soft music. The Man looked around, " oh isn't this spot familiar, I think i'm coming down with a case a deja vu". The spot was indeed familiar it was the spot Jude was fighting the boar at. Rue stabbed forward towards his chest, her eyes were dim and calm and only cared about the man's demise. The man pulled out a dagger as he parrying Rue's blade to the side. Rue tighten her lower fingers and snapped the blade back and readjusted the strike to his neck. The Man jumped back, " Whew Ruei-Chan your eyes are bea-u-ti-ful! I've never fought another killer before, just fodder this is the best you are just how are boss describe you"! Rue put her right shield hand forward raised at eye level right foot forward with her left back for support. Left sword hand balanced slightly above shield half of the blade passes the shield, arms and legs slightly bent to reduce incoming attacks. Moving in on the man she push up against him with her shield locking his arms to his body poking the sword forward she cuts the side of his neck. The man tires to jump away put can't in the moment when she push up to him she step on his foot. With the man open to attack you lifts the shield smacking him in the chin, snapping his head back and with her sword stabs him through the gut. The man coughs out blood as he gasps, bringing his head back to look at Rue he grins wildly. A yellow eclectic glow forms around his dagger. Rue could not dodge it so she activated her sword art, he body glowed with a yellow aura. The blade plunged into her neck a blood spurted out, Rue body tightened and shook as it seized from the paralysation. The man slid himself off of Rue's blade wet gushing sounds echoed as he pushed. " Ruie-Chan you are making it very difficult to bring you with me. I personally don't want you in are group, but the boss is infatuated with you. I kept telling him that it would never happen, your not willing to enjoy the freedom you have here you to restricted by a lose sense of morals". fully removing the blade from his body he walk around Rue. He slipped the his knife in between Rue's ribs and slowly pushed it deeper twisting it every so often. " So I said to him, if I can bring her back alive, I would do so. However your to stubborn, your too much of a risk". The last part of his words were whispered in her ear as he slipped the knife in deeper. Rue could not cry out as the blade worked in to her body, her health continued to drop. She could start to move her finger and would wiggle them in a attempt to recover faster. The man would cackle as he removed his blade and stab Rue on the gut, slowly slicing along her gut. Blood erupted from her wounds, " Ruie-Chan this was fun, but it time to say goodbye"! The man lifted his dagger up to the sky and turned it. The knife reflected the moonlight off of it's blade, Swing downward towards Rue neck his eyes stared in excitement for the girls last moments. Rue's light movements made the effect fade just before the blade reached her neck, smacking the blade and the man causing him to fall backward. Rue lunged forward and pierced the man's heart. The smiling killers breath left his body. Rue shoved the blade in deeper as she rested on it, the pain from her wounds making hard for her to stand. Staring at the man with her merciless eyes she heard a voice. " Sensei"!? It was Jude!? The boy looked at the blood covered girl stabbing the man, and he fell back in fear. " Sensei what are you doing why is their so much blood"?! Rue looked at the boy, her dim murderous eyes frightened the boy. " No Jade this isn't what it looks like it can explain". The boy crawled then ran away in pure terror. " Noooo Jude come back"! the man gurgled and laughed as he spat out blood. " Well now, that was a surprise now wasn't it"? Rue's eyes watered and she spoke in a defeated tone. " Shut up". " Now the whole world will no that your a killer, why deny it now". the man coughed and hacked up blood, " What are you going to do now, know where's safe for you now your a wanted women on both sides of the fence". " Shut up"! My back up plan worked even better then I could of every imagined. Ruei-Chan Your already dead". The man howled, Rue lifted her blade and held it with both hands and stab him over and over and over. " Shut up shut up shut up shut up shutupshutupshutup"! The man looked like a pile of meat as he disappeared into red pixels. Laying on the ground, Rue chest raised and lowered skipping with each point of pain hitting her body. Taking the red bandana out she raised it to the sky. The bandana flapped around as the wind pulled at it. The small cloth slow peeled itself off of the small girl's sticky blood soaked hand as she released her grip. The bandana flew off into the night as she watch it dance away. |
