The young woman could only imagine what it would look like during the evening hours. She closed her eyes for a few seconds as she slowly turned her head, looking over her shoulder at the window. It was calming to hear someone fumble around in a kitchen, made the dangerous world around them seem more like home. Takita leaned her chin against her arms as she tilted her head, watching him getting everything ready for the meal Angelo was about to cook. She gave him a warm smile as he didn't mind having the young woman watching him cook, a few minutes after his reply, Angelo rolled up his sleeves and started cutting the vegetables before him. To her surprise, Angelo worked very well with the knife in his hand as the systematic of chopping as the blade hit the cutting board created a calming atmosphere. When he was done, Angelo turned to Takita and asked for the trout she caught earlier by the lake. '' One second. '' she mumbled as Takita swiped her index finger down, opening the menu before her. As her eyes scanned it after the fish, the young woman started humming happily. When her light touch reached the menu button, the trout showed up in her hands in a bright, quick light. Takita handed it over to him with a shiver going down her back as the fish still felt cold against her warm skin. As Angelo received the trout, he tapped it twice with the knife in his hand, causing the game mechanics to form the fish into two fillets. Cooking in the game was a lot easier and effortless compared to the real world. Takita didn't really mind this as she was quite the lazy bum when it came to cooking, let alone cleaning after herself. Hearing the sizzle sound from the pan as the fish met the hight heat made her smile as the smell of food caused her stomach to sound like a howling dire wolf. The young woman didn't realise she was hungry until the smell of food cooking reached her nose. With a smile, she leaned back and placed her hands in her lap. Waiting patiently. He placed everything on two plates, but them down on ta dining table and turned to the girl, telling her there was rice if she wanted some. With a happy smile the young woman scoped some rice on to her plate before sitting down in down in front him. She watched him as he places his hands together, saying something that sounded japanese. Takita that was korean herself held the chopsticks in her left hand and mumbled '' Jal moke get sum nida '' before without any problem placing a piece of fish in her mouth. Smiling brightly as the fish melted like butter in her mouth. '' It taste great! '' As the two were eating the food, Takita hummed happily before she put her chopsticks down, looking at Angelo. The young woman wanted to start a conversation but had trouble thinking of a topic the two could discuss. In the real world there was always the topic about politics or world problems but such things didn't apply to the new world. She didn't want to ask anything that could trigger strong emotions as she was bad at handling negative feelings she had herself. Despite this , Takita was a great listener but starting conversations was not something she was great at. Angelo (Jal moke get sum nida means “I will eat very well,” but it implies “Thank you for preparing the food. I appreciate you preparing this food.”)

Angelo chuckled to himself when he heard her stomach growl. How very human of her. And here he thought women were incapable of farting, pooping, or burping.

Before they ate, Takita said a phrase that sounded strange to him. Realization hit him that she wasn't Japanese and would ponder on that thought for a while. The white-haired teen would smile while continuing to eat his 'home-made' meal. He was used to making Japanese-style dishes back at home, but here, things were slightly different. With the ingredients he had at hand, he made a meal that he once read about on the internet. It may have not been exactly as how he remembered it, but he was pretty sure it was pretty close. It certainly tasted good enough. Angelo just wished that she thought the same.


Her words of praise warmed his heart. The boy looked down at his lap, slightly embarrassed that another person complimented him on his meal. He would ask a quick question while they were eating.

"If you don't mind me asking, what ethnicity are you Takita-san?" And he remembered his manners. "I'm Japanese."

'' I'm Korean. '' Takita said with a smile as he informed her that he was japanese. This didn't come as a surprise to the young woman as she had her suspicions already. When she thought about it, Takita got curious about the man before her. Did he live there, born and raised? The questions kept getting bigger in her mind as the young girl leaned against her hand, taking the last piece of fish in her mouth with yet another smile. Takita sadly didn't spend her teenage year in Korea as she moved during a very young age as her mother often put her work before her own child. This caused Takita to have a lack of connection to her grandparents that got left behind, despite this the young woman spoke korean without any problems as it was the language her mother had spoken to her at the few occasions that she was at home. '' Do you live in Japan? '' she asked as she started chewing on her chopsticks, which was a bad habit the young woman have had since she was a little girl, to her surprise the chopsticks was very different compared to the ones in real life. These didn't get effected by her chewing, they didn't break, they didn't snap unevenly as you separated them. Small things like this gave Takita a bittersweet feeling as it was a constant reminder about what she had left behind for the new world. Angelo

"Do I live in Japan? Yes, I did with my mother and sister." He didn't mention his father; Angelo didn't want to bring back bad memories about his past concerning his father. And so, the boy neglected to include his father in his 'family'. He began talking about how he bought the NerveGear because of its rising popularity and began playing Sword Art Online. How his sister aced her test and he let her play the game. How he unknowingly trapped both of them into this world.

The boy sighed, but looked at Takita in her eyes. "We are doing rather well though, for now. We both live here in this ramshackled place we call home. At least the view is nice." Angelo laughed as he finished the last morsels of food on his plate. He placed his hands together for the final time and said, "Gochisousama deshita."

He stood up and took both of their plates to the sink where he soaked them in water for a few seconds before leaving it to be cleaned at a later time. "How was the food?"

Takita held back the question as Angelo didn't mention his father. She didn't want to step on a sensitive topic or make him feel uncomfortable around her. She simply nodded as he continued to tell her how he and his sister ended up in the game. His story was much like others, the rising popularity often attracted player. The age range of players seemed to vary as the young woman had met all kinds of different players. As Angelo looked into her soft hazel eyes, she smiled. What else could she do? She couldn't imagine what it was like to be here with a family member. Knowing that someday, somehow you might lose them. The thought sent a cold shiver down her back as she agreed with him on the nice view. It was indeed beautiful as the lake glimmered in the early sunlight. His laugh was calming as he seemed effected by what he just had told her. Not wanting to bother the young man, Takita stayed quiet. After taking their plates and lightly washing them off, Angelo turned to her, asking about how the food tasted. With a light chuckle, Takita looked at him as she leaned her hand against her warm cheek. '' It was nice. I've missed having a good home-cooked meal. '' she said in a soft voice as her brown locks of hair rested against her shoulders that was covered by the blue starting gear. While looking around in the apartment, the young woman first now noticed that his sister wasn't there or at least not what she knew of. '' Where's your sister? '' Takita asked as she raised one eyebrow, she wouldn't mind meeting her since Angelo was a good friend to her. After all. It was difficult these day, to keep a long lasting friendship. Angelo
